Prince (on foot) – 242
-Vambraces of Defense
-Armour of Caledor
Noble, BSB - 161
Mage, level 1 – 140
-Annulian Crystal (or 2 scrolls??)
18 Spearmen – 187
17 Spearmen – 178 (+ BSB )
17 Spearmen – 203 (+ Prince)
-Banner of Arcane protection (or warbanner ??)
7 Sword Masters
6 Dragon Princes – 190
6 Ellyrion Reavers – 133
-The 3 units of Spears form up in the centre as the 'anvil' units. With the BSB and Prince in range of all 3 units, they'll all be testing on Ld10 and re-roll break tests. Cheap and effective units with the Prince adding some punch (and rather hard to kill, 2+ re-rollable, 4+ ward)
-The Chariots will run as a pair for combined charge. Generally trying to stay with the spears as they advance
-RBTs provide cover, reducing rank bonuses or hitting tougher targets that S3 spears struggle with (chariots, monsters, heavy cavalry etc)
-Reavers to march block & charge bait. Flank attacks if not too many fall to shooting.
-Eagles to war machine hunt & march block
-Dragon Princes for heavy flanking or steam-rolling weak units.
-Mage hides in bushes/buildings, trying to cast Drain magic.
-Hopefully being etherial will keep the BSB safe from regular troops, while the champion challenges characters with magic weapons.
Might struggle against magic heavy armies. Or a gun-line that gets first turn. Should do well against more balanced/aggressive armies.

I love the idea behind it and would have liked to play something similar in a previous edition, but I really don't think this army type can compete anymore. All of the new books will eat you alive (VC, Daemons, DE). Empire and O&G and even a balanced dwarven list should be able to eliminate the "hammer" units leaving you with lots of spearmen. While spearmen could probably hold their own in a fair fight, losing your DP, SM and chariots will allow the enemy to use his own "hammer" units to undo you.
Maybe it's just the enviroment I play in, and my cynical view of the new army books (VC and Daemons only, DE look fun and relatively balanced) but it doesn't seem GW wants an army without at least 2-3 spell casters in it.
Maybe drop the BSB and a unit of Spears, to try to get 2 level 2 Mage's in ?
I just feel that without playing a defensive style, the casters are too vulnerable in close combat units & would most likely end up dead. They really need to sit back in a unit of Archers or something.
