Welcome to Librarium Online!
A friend and I have decided to try a 3000 point game for the first time. Putting a list together to face a strong shooty army.
XXX - Tyrion
XXX - Teclis
420 - Dragonmage, Silver Wand, Guardian Phoenix
210 - Noble, BSB, Battle Banner, Shield, Heavy Armour, Barded Steed
XXX - Korhil
XXX Archers X10
XXX Archers X10
XXX Archers X10
210 - Dragon Princes X 7
380 - Phoenix Guard X 20, Full Command, Banner of Sorcery
234 - White Lions X 14, Guardian, Standard(Korhil makes a unit of 5X3)
XXX - Bolt Thrower X 2
Total = 2999
My friends dwarf list will most likely be shooty heavy so I have to go with the larger units to insure they get across the board. Being that hes dwarf, I am sure that he will have a strong anti magic phase, Teclis however with all his irresistible casts doesn't really care about that, and the dragon mage's recklessness will help those casting values a ton, I will be casting with him first to get those dispell dice out and Teclis has free reign of the table. Also was thinking of going with death magic for this fight, as it is likely that the cannons will be gunning for Teclis, so steal soul will come in handy, and doom & darkness will be very helpful with those high leadership dwarves.
High Elves aren't really a core army so as far as that goes, I usually just take the bare minimum.
Tyrion and the BSB will be going in with the Dragon Princes for a 5X2 wide unit(Tyrion's stupid large base. When they get close I was thinking of taking Tyrion outa the unit and have him go war machine hunting.
Phoenix Guard are pretty much going to march straight at the bulk of his gunline, they will be able to absorb the most amount of firepower, and there is no way 20 are going to get killed by the time they get accross the board.
White Lions will most likely sit in a forest until my PGs and DPs get closer, then Korhil will do his thing
This is pretty much a fun game, but I would like playing 3000 point games more often, so its a good start to a building block. Let me know what you think.
Please do not post point costs of units without upgrades, or characters in future - GN out

Wow, thats a lot of points spent in characters!!!
You mention in your comments that you know this dwarf army to be shooty, and kudos on taking the most fire resistant troops. However, you have a Dragon, which will be blasted out of the sky turn one.
That, coupled with your lack of war machine hunting units, (no great eagles or shadow warriors), will leave your army to get blasted to bits before you cross the board. Yes Teclis, Tyrion and Korhil are hard, but they won't win a game against large ranked units, they just won't.
I would consider a serious rethink on your army, maybe bulking up the number of troops, and using your archers as a M5 screen, protecting your troops from harm as you march up the field. 2 units of 10 sacrificed to make sure you make it, then combat will be yours, so long as you pick your fights correctly.
New LOChat functions now avaliable.

I see what you mean about all the characters, mainly did this because I don't really have the models for much more hehe...Models I have left on the shelf for this are 16 SMs which will get eaten against a gun line, a lion chariot...which will never see combat against dwarves. However I do have 2 great eagles, Caradyn, a noble, and a mage.....which I could use to replace the points of the dragon, the mage however will be a waste because everything he casts will be dispelled.
thanks for the advice, ill give it another go
