Hi all, I'm a nw high elves player (I'm new to warhammer altogether) and here's an idea for my army. with lots of chosen in it.
I will mainly be playing against a (tzeentch) chaos army
I don't know if it's any good so all help is appreciated!
blade of leaping gold
blade of sea gold
the seerstaff of saphery
-7 silver helms (joined by noble)
-7 dragon princes of caledor (joined by prince)
-lion chariot of chrace
-repeater bolt thrower
1979 pts total
I'm affraid I'm spending too much points in my general, but I really want one very strong character with a good dragon.
Please do not put in individual points costs of units or items without upgrades in future - GN out

~First thing first, if your unit doesn't have any special gear, then don't post the point cost.
~Also, do you plan on putting your Prince that's mounted on a Dragon, inside your unit of Dragon Princes? This is not good for a couple of reasons. A) A dragon is a large target, so enemies can pick you out of units anyways. A team of Dragon Princes coupled with a dragon that's not in the unit, but acting together you can hit the sides of ranked up units and destroy their rank bonus, hopefully breaking them on turn one.
~Dragon Princes are really spectacular with the Ellyrian Banner, letting them run through trees and units all the same!
~Silver Helms are generally all around weaker than Dragon Princes, for 7 points you just get so much more bang for your buck.
~Your mounted noble would do really well to have an enchanted shield, giving him a +1 save.
~Here are just some options that could better your list.
Thanks a lot for the help .
I'll give the noble an enchanted shield and the dragon princes a banner of Elyrion, but I'm keeping the silver helms because I already bought some and since my budget isn't too big I can't really afford to buy something and then not use it.
I won't put the prince in any unit, but what should I do with the mage? put him in a unit or keep him alone?
And should I put the Noble in the unit of dragon princes instead of silver helms?
~Depending on the army, you can keep your mage out in the open, but only if your opponent does not have any shooting. If your opponent is wood elves or dark elves, then keep your mage in a unit, but opponents such as vampire counts, or another army that doesn't have shooting in its list, you can have your mage scamper off my its lonesome.
~Depending on your mage's lore, you should either put it in your unit of spearmen, or archers. If your using a lore to augment your troops, then you'll want to put him in the unit of spearmen, so he stays in range. Otherwise, archers are a good unit to keep them in because they'll be out of range of a lot of enemy attacks.
~I'd put the Noble in the Dragon Princes, because if you're going to have a deadly unit such as dragon princes, might as well put in another hard hitting machine of destruction in there.
