This is a pretty nice list.
I really like the amount of fast moving cavalry and chariots, and the steady shooting and magic base to the list. I take it the Lord goes in the Phoenix Guard and the mages with the archers.
My biggest concern is the fact that there is only one block of lined up infantry. Granted, your flank charges would be a real hammer blow to an enemy, but if you come up against an enemy that doesn't break, undead for example, you don't have the staying power, or the magic defence to hold them off for long.
I would consider dropping 3 Phoenix Guard and one of the chariots for a unit of 18 spearmen to hold the line with the Phoenix Guard.
This will give you more feet on the street.
Just my thoughts

Yes you are correct on the characters placement.
I understand what you are saying with the boots in battle. I will see what can be done to get more models in the list.
I really like the two Lion Chariots they tend to get a lot of attention. This allows me to distract with them on a flank and have my other unit to hit the other flank with.
You are correct about the undead problem. That is one reason I used the Phoenix Guard, fear and ward save.
Thank you for your ideas.
High Elf WiP Tactica
My first intentions were to charge with them in tandem with one unit of the Dragon Princes to get into my opponents flank and/or rear, but it turned out in the games this weekend that they received so much attn they were used to decoy while the cav units and even the Phoenix Guards were able to flank my opponents line or/even burst the middle in one game.
This came about in the setup of my 1st game and continued in all 3 of the games played. Which caused me to change my setup ideas.
I played against O&G w/Grimgor. They got his attn so they decoyed in this game. Second game was Empire w/Luther Huss, I had to hide them form cannons in this game for a while but with the help of terrain one was able to charge a unit of Knights and plug a hole to secure a flank. The last game was against a very fast Slaanesh army w/The Mask character and a Keeper of Secrets, in that game they were able to hold a flank against two units of Daemonettes after charging them and was about to be charged by a third unit which just just failed it's charge, one chariot was destoryed and the other was fleeing at the end of the game, but they did their job and caused alot of damage.
Sorry I rambled on so, I hope I answered you question.
