My regular opponents are Dark Elf and Wood Elf players, this army list has put up a good fight against both of them. The mages provide excellent spell selection and put out a good amount of firepower; I swap the powerstones for dispel scrolls or ring of corin as required. The spearmen are so small as to be useless but are limited by my model availability; they usually sit back and provide a haven for a mage while the special choices do the real work. The BSB goes with an infantry unit and scoots out and goes after warmachines if the oppertunity presents itself. The Dragon Princes provide a cheap distraction that is too threatening to ignore. I'm tempted to drop a White Lion and get the Banner of Ellyrion for the Swordmasters to allow them to advance through a forest and get some cover.
Ring of Fury
Seerstaff of Saphery
Sword of Might
Helm of Fortune
Spearmen x 15
Archers x 10
Swordmasters x 14
White Lions x 15
Banner of Sorcery
Pheonix Guard x 15
Dragon Princes x 5
Repeater Bolt Thrower
Repeater Bolt Thrower
8 + D3 PD / 5 DD
Looks like a solid list. Missing a wareagle for march blocking and threatening war machines.
Your swordmasters are going to become a very big target.
Against DE I guess you take the ring of corin to get rid of their ring, doubles for miscast.
Against WE, HE do not have many flaming attacks to get rid of regen.
Please keep us informed about how you are doing.
This isn't a bad starting point for the High Elves. An elite number, with some nice punch. I would recommend some slight alterations, models permitting of course:
1) Split the swordmasters into 2 units of 7 without command, and use the as flankers. They are a less tempting target, but still very potent against almost all enemies
2) Consider a different roll for your BSB. I would equip him as follows:
BSB on foot
Armour of Caledor
This guy could sit in the Phoenix Guard, with your archmage providing a solid footing
3) Drop 3 White Lions for 1 Phoenix Guard, and with the spare points get an eagle.
4) Consider swapping the Banner of sorcery to the Phoenix Guard, and the warbanner to the white lions. The Phoenix Guard are generally more survivable.
Just my thoughts
New LOChat functions now avaliable.

In my experience the Phoenix Guard need the extra combat resolution because they do little damage and are a little expensive to take in units of 20. Whereas the White Lions are stubborn and if they have a crap turn of combat they will usually pull through on their leadership - even at LD 9 Phoenix Guard have to test like everyone else.
Adding the hero to their ranks will boost their damage output which is nice. If I add the Banner of Sorcery to that unit which in addition to an Archmage and noble will make for a very expensive unit. I suppose if the mage dies I won't need the banner anymore!
