Hey guys, this is my first post on the forums (heheh). Its also the first time I have have back to Warhammer Fantasy in about 7 years. A lot has changed. The mini's, the Army book has changed several times, as has the rule book. And not to mention my local shop has moved several times too.
Anyways, so im jumping right back into the thron with a mate of mine (He's getting lizardmen). Im getting HE. I used to play small HE battles ages ago.
Heres my running test list
Mage on Barded Steet
5 DP with full command
So this list can get up 1700, Im aiming for a 2250 army in the comming months and this is my start. Im yet to work out a color scheme and fluff for my heroes. And i do love coming up with my own fluff XD
So what do you guys think?
In future, please put all army lists in the army list section. Many thanks - GN out

You probably need another mage. And if you have two mages banner of sorcery is a great selection.
You really have a lot of core units. HE strenght is in their numerous choices for special units.
There is several comments about the usefulness of silver helms compared to dragon princes.
Personnelly I do not like the LSG but that is my choice.
RBTs are better than archers.
You need some kind of march blockers, either eagles or shadow warriors.
That is about the only comments that I can make at this time. There is too much information missing. What is your plan? What do you want to concretrate on, magic, shooting, moving or close combat. HE can do it all but just not all at once.
If you're planning on playing against the thick skinned lizards, you're definitely going to have to revise this list. You have way to much low dmg shooty goodness. The lizards are going to come across the table fast and hard. Other then your 1/2 unit/s of LSG you don't have anything that is going to Hold the Line per say. How are you going to deal with the stegadons? You cant shoot all the Saurus and a stegadon in time with you list. When either of those hits your lines your army is likely to rout. Chances are with the 3 dice the lizards get to take LD on they're not going to panic from ur ranged cassaulties.
You also have no real march blocking units to slow down his advance too.
Also Gary is right, you're going to need more Mages. 1 mage wont be enough to stop the Possibly strong magic phase of a Slann and Skink Priest that are likely to be in the list.
And he aint going to get much magic through either.
I'd suggest ditching 16 Archers, and the LSG.
Get some Plain Spearmen and/or Pheonix Guard to act as a heavy Anvil/Anchor, another RPB or Great eagle.
Silver helms generally arn't as strong as DP's these days and you possible dont need a full cmd for the DPS's either if your using them as a Flanking unit to score casualties to help win the Combat as a hammer while used in sync with the spears/lsg/pg.
You have to realise that the Lizardmen are a very TOUGH army, They can take an insane amount of dmg b4 the rout (if they do at all) So you need to be able to win a battle of attrition with them, and i don't think your present list can do that.
Mind you I'm still getting back into the game. Others may suggest differently. But at the end of the day when playing with mates you can always PROXY models and find out what you like or what works best for you to help you enjoy the game and with a little luck from the dice gods win with it too more often then not!
Hey guys I have thought about it for a while and decided to put more magic users. So a more magic and defensive army. Less cores and more smh's and dp's. Does this make sense?
