    2250 Guardians of the Phoenix King

    This army really isnt competitive, cause it has almost no magic defense or offense, basically im going to be casting drain magic, and thats about it. since i have 80 phoenix guard, thats 80 S 4 ASF fear causing models with 4+ ward saves. thats a pretty penny to get through, and they will be able to hold their own against most things, but they will most likely lose against swarms, monsters and all shooting armies, like dwarf gun lines

    You like PGs, don't you? My main concern about this list is the lack of Rares. RBTs have proved to be vital to me many times, and Eagles are quite valuable also.

    phoenix guard in numbers like that are brutal,
    80 models with 4+ ward?
    wow.
    korhil works better with phoenix guard in my opinion,
    and you may want another mage.

    Yeah, thats what im going for. its going to be soo hard to remove all of them, cause they essentially ingore up to half of all the wounds they recieve

    yeah, i know khoril is pretty bomb, but caradryan has the curse thing, which is why im having him and his unit go straight after the most powerful thing they have and take it down.

    I really want to get another mage, but i dont have the points, i would have to drop the Prince, and get maybe a noble BSB, and scroll caddy? though not sure, il playtest it to see which one is better

    just today,
    5 phoenix guard flank charged 20 dwarf warriors and a thane,
    from turn 3 to turn 6 they were in combat, not losing a single model,
    brilliant i tell you,

    i think you should take the prince out indeed and take an other mage for more magic support. You could use caradryan as your general, witch would make prefect sense fluffwise.

    you might want to go with a bsb with the banner of battle, problem would be his lack o armour, cause he'll die easier then the rest of your army..

    Another thing - why bother with the standard of sorcery with 1 mage? Those extra dice aren't being put to good use unless you have the spells to throw around, meaning an arhcmage at the very least, and prefereably Teclis...

    I'd take the Lion Standard on one unit, as that unit can then stand toe-to-toe with Terror-causing monsters. And Amulets of Light, enchanted shields, Mask of the Merlord etc are all valid type magical items for your unit champions just to get that additional bonus when you need to turtle up. A champion with enchanted shield and a basic magical sword liek a biting blade may only be S3 but has a 3+ armour save in close combat and backs this up with a 4+ ward save...

    If all you are going to try to do is get drain magic off don't take the silver wand, you don't need another spell.
