Hey, ive got a doubles list I think I could do with some feedback on. I am not too sure if it would work, but thats what the thread is for ^^
I think I am teaming with Skaven, but I am not sure yet and if I am not sure what would be in my partners list. Anyway...
Level 2 Mage, Jewel of Dusk 150
20 Spearmen with Banner 190
14 Pheonix Guard (Mage makes the rank) 210
Repeater Bolt Thrower x2 = 200
Any help, advice, or just telling me it's plain rubbish is appreciated xP
ok what's your game plan? your list just doesn't really seem to work together...
if you intend to stay back and wait for the enemy to come to you, take archers or LSG instead of spearmen.
you might want to consider a chariot for countercharging.
If you want to get into the combat, leave the mage with a boltthrower and change the PG into WL or SM.
This way you should consider leaving the mage and go for a noble to be more effective in CC.

I see what you mean ^^; The reasoning was that Pheonix Guard have a ward save which is cool by Dwarf Thunderers, obliterated me in my first two games >.>. And Spearmen so they aint alone. But I see what you mean, hopefully this list may be better . Tell me what you think xD
Noble with Heavy Armor, Great Weapon and Shield, Talisman of Protection 109
20 Spearmen with Standard 190
10 Swordsmen of Hoeth 150
10 Swordsmen of Hoeth 150
5 Dragon Princes of Caledor 150 (Or possibly Repeater Bolt Thrower + something?)
Obviously more assault-y ^^;
I like the 2nd list better, but i think that you need a mage with the annulian crystal in case you come up against a vampire raising list.
With Dwarves and the first list, you need to make a call about whether you can cross the board into the teeth of their shooting, if you can't then, sit back and try and destry the Thunderers with your Bolt Throwers superior range, don't forget they are move or fire so you can often get around the sides of their shooting especially with our cavalry and stuff.
a bolt thrower is a must have. there is nothing els in your army strength 6/4 and armour piercing. the cavalry is also a good idea. to get around the flanks of your enemy. why not then take the spears as you said, this will be the main unit. the basic fighting core. then i would take a unit of 15 sword masters. this saves you a few points to spend on your mage. for some good magic items.
to get more attacks with the spears. add the mage to the unnit and put them in 3 ranks of 7. you will get more attacks when you attack first (even before impact hits!)
then you have the choice to take away 5 of your sword masters and squeeze in another mage, or to leave the 5 swordies and spend the spare points on banners, magic items E.T.C ?
what do ya think?
