a friend of mine told me would like to play with his skaven against my HE. He also told me his list, it will look (more or less like this
1 Grey Seer
40 Giant Rats
Here is my list:
Archmage, lvl 4, book of hoeth
1 Dragonmage, lvl2, staff of strength and 1 dispel scroll (still thinking about taking the phoenixguardian insted of a scroll)
1 Mage (classical bancaddy)
1 Noble, bsb, items: ???
20 Spearmen, full command group
20 Spearmen, full command group
10 Dragonprinces of Caledor with command group
1 Lionchariot of Chrace
I'm now in doubt with the items I shall use.
I thinkhe will use the stormbanner, so I eventually wanted to change the dragonmage into a normal mage and 12 swordmasters.
Another alternative would be to use ellyrian reavers, but what shall I do with them?
Or shall I let the swordmasters beside and change one unit of 20 spearmen into an unit with 2 lsg? Or eventually take a griffin. But this would agai ngive some problems wit hhis storm banner^^
I never played against such a horde and i think that I will try to use maybe the lore of shadows and try to kill his bsb as soon as possible. In close combat I could have, imo, some problems, his units are steadfast.
I also don't know how to deal with the doomwheels.
Summary: never played against Skaven with my HE (only with my VC and that was a massacre, but it was in 7th edition :-))
Anyone there with some ideas, or experiences.
Thanks for the replies;

i dont understand wat you mean with the items on your dragonmage, and your bancaddy????
but you'll want to make sure you pick of enough ranks of before you charge in (look at the 6th spells of the different lores). Flames of the phoenix will do massive damage as wel, as does the fulminating flame cage, and dwellers below. Those are all spells that targets each and every model in a unit, so it kan actually halve a unit of 70 in a single turn.
You could also Up your DP's to 12, so you are sure at least 10 of them make it into combat so you could use it as a disruption unit.

Yes, indeed I see 2 mistakes :-) The first thing is the bancaddy, and the second thing is that I don't use him at 2,5k points.
For your BSB I recommend Dragon Armour, Shield, Helm of Fortune and a Guardian Phoenix - that gives him a 2+ save with reroll, and a 5+ ward after that.
I'm also finding LSG more useful than both archers and spearmen, and the higher cost means at this point level you can have a smaller front (good for use with the refused flank tactic against a horde, as they can't all reach you at once)
Actually, a "bancaddy", that is a mage carrying the annullian crystal, is a great asset to bring against anything that has magic.
The Silver Knights of Tor Adrac (He): 26/2/4
The Spears of Slaanesh (Woc): 7/2/5
Battlegroup Chalybso (GK): 7/3/3
Refused flank tactic sounds good, same thing with the idea of the mage. Thanks for your advices :-)
