My list with the dragon was very weak against empire and drawves because of their canons, and i didn't have enough units to support my lord so in the end, painful to watch :'(. Here is a new list that still hasn't lost.
- Archmage Lvl.4 with stuff like anuulian crytsal to add extra dices to my magic phase since I only have this mage. (Sorry for the lack on information about my equipments there is 3 differents and my army book is in french so to remember and translate is quite hard)
- Prince with caldeor armor and the helmet that allows re-rolls on missed armor saves ( Sorry again )
- Spearmen x 23 full command
- Spearmen x 23 full command
- SM x 20 full command
- WL x 20 full command
- DP x 10 full command
- LC x 2
- RBT x 2
- Great eagle
When I played the empire and dwarves, I put my prince on the eagle and equipped him with the bow that shoots like a balista, and it was great destroying canons and warmachines. I know an eagle is not the best, but the canons were busy to shoot my SMs, since my WLs have extra armor saves against shooting and my PDs have great cavalry saves :p. Anyways, this tactic might be wrong so do not be afraid to tell me, and against non-canons armies, I drop a champion in one of my spearmen units and place him there.
uh... this isn't a legal list. There isn't enough core. so then i thought that it might be an old 7th list somehow resurfacing, but even then it doesn't seem right based on the timeline and description of battle problems (how much more effective cannons are now).
So uh.... drop all 10 dragon princes and beef your spearmen units. That'll make the list legal.
You might want to change the spearmen to sea guard. I don't know if that will make the list legal on it's own, but then you've got spearmen with bows.
Can you explain me the rule? Because i've read that you need 25% of ur points in core units but in the army book, it doesn't mention anything about it, neither it mentionns about that you can have 25% of ur points in lords. For my army size it's 2 core units min. and 1 lord max so i dont understand this rule When I played against canons, s10 hits splashing in my units and dragon were deadly, and maybe my opponent got lucky wiith his dices, but it really destroyed my units throughout the game, while having high movements units chasing them, decisions must be made, so they don,t know what would be efficient, and with the depth of this list, I can get to opponents warmachines. I'm still a beginner, so dont hesitate to destroy me.
Even if you follow the rulings as you just stated, you still couldn't have had the list you presented. You said you gave the "noble" on eagle the Ballista bow. That bow is 60 points, and can not be used by a noble (50 point max). So it had to have been a prince, which still violates your 1 lord max.
But to clear things up, the page your refrencing where it says 2 core min and 1 lord max has been errata'ed out with the new edition and FAQ. The entire army must follow a strict % basis when constructed.
No more than 25% of your points (625 in this case) can be in lords. You can have as many lords as you want as long as you don't go over 625 points.
No more than 25% of your points can be in heroes. Same restrictions apply.
No LESS than 25% of your points MUST be core units. Have one really big one, or 18 smaller ones, you'll need at least 625 points in core at this size.
No more than 50% can be special units.
No more than 25% can be rare units.
If you're still a beginner, I suggest getting a copy (or borrowing a copy) of the main BRB and reading it cover to cover. After you've forgotten most of what you read, ask a friend or game store manager/employee to help you out bu doing a smaller game. until you're completely comfortable with the rules, i would suggest not going any higher than 1000 points. As you become more comfortable, up the point value. This will also help you decide whether or not you really like this army, or if you'd prefer to take on another.
Thanks a lot about the advices, I finally understand the point allocation system . I said I was a beginner because I never 2500pts games before but I played plenty of 1000, 1500, and 2000pts lists before its just that I mostly play with friends and when I go to the games workshop in my town, I was never told about this system so this is totally new for me. I live far from home now so my army book is not even close to me, and I agree that it was a mistake to share a list without having the book next to me, its only that you guys on this forum really have good advices so I thought sharing would be good even though it was so wrong!!!! XD
