Okey, so this will be for a very friendly 1000point tournament. Decided to go shooty with my elves
Haven't got all to much gaming experience but i figured it could work
Mage lvl 2 Seerstaff of Saphery (High Magic, using arrow attraction, fury of khaine and drain)
20 LSG, standard
19 LSG, standard
This ends up at 942, probably use the rest of the points for more SGs
This will play against skaven, khorne daemons, Vampire, Dwarfs and Saurus-spamming Lizards
Any thoughts or suggestions would be fun to hear
Honestly, if you're thinking about straight up shooty, drop the seaguard and get nothing but archers. go with arrow attraction, and pepper one unit each turn. Archers might not be able to fight in 3+ ranks, but you'll get twice as many shots off. You'll still get to hit first, at the same WS, at the same S, in two ranks. You should be able to out range the dwarfs pretty easily, and skaven, demons, and undead will provide you with plenty of low tougness targets. Your biggest threat will be all those T4 lizards. but then thats what RBT and fury of khaine are for. If you're going to play like dwarfs with elves, you might as well do it right.
Seriously though, LSG aren't going to do you any good at that size. Sure, all 4 ranks would get to attack, but only 15 get to shoot (unless they moved), and even then its with shorter range. Maybe find room for a noble with reaver bow. That would make T4 a lot easier to take out. If you're faced with war machines just shoot the crap out of it with your S3 arrows and hope for 6's. don't waste the reaver bow on a war machine unless you have ZERO other targets (you'll pretty much always have another target).
