10 Phoenix With Keeper
25 Spearman With FC

I think you have a pretty solid list.
You could give the spearmen the warbanner (or just make the unit 30) to get your core requirement.
that way you could leave the archers, and increase the size of your phoenix guard, or try to squeeze in some other goodies.
Anyway, i would take the hawkeye out, because he costs to many points.(he's about the same of another archer, and another archer would be better)
Oh, and it is not allowed to post all the points costs of the units and the upgrades.
You have to edit that, or GW will be very mad.
I was curious, is there anything else i could give to the archmage or would that be too much for a 1k game?
When you mention removing the hawkeye, should i do the same thing with my phoenix guard and remove the keeper of the flame?
and thank you, sorry, im new to this site and didnt see the posting rules listed in this section
The PG champion will serve a better purpose as he can protect your archmage from challenges (i presume you put your armage with the pg?).
I think the mage is fine the way he is, serving as a cheap kind of lv4.
you could also consider the seerstaff, making sure you get the spells you want so you can tune your tactics.
I would go for High magic BTW. there are some very potent spells in there like flames of the phoenix.
Oh and if you in the end of writing your list you still have a couple of points left:
check the cheap items in the BRB. the PG and SM can carry some magic items.(just keep it cheap)
I'd drop the archers - you don't need them, and for the same price you could get more bodies in one of your elite units, or a bolt thrower, or even a chariot Actually, I'd use the points to get a BSB as losing one of your units to a panic test hurts LOTS at small point levels.
Life is by far the best magic for High Elves as it removes our biggest weaknesses and lets us get back up after being murdered.
Thanks for the tips, but I've heard from friends that chariots aren't as good as they seem in a fight (I can see the impact hits but they look like cannon and arrow magnets) i have a lion chariot but I've never used it. But i have thought of putting in a BSB and a bolt thrower
I've looked around a lot in this forum and not many people seem to use a lot of the magic items, is there reason for that? the most common (for HE anyway) seem to be the Silver Wand and Folariaths Robe and the War Banner
[DEL]realitycheque: he can't drop the archers: he won't get his 25% core req.[/DEL]
Chariots are good, depending on the army you are facing. If it is dwarfs, of Empire, don't go for the chariot. A single cannonball will kill it.
against anything else they are pretty good. They aren't the most competitive choice according to most people around here.
But i use it anyway because it is a great model.(and sometimes that's all you need)
Adding a BsB won't be one of my top priorities. At this small scale your opponent probably won't have a bsb either, and with a steady ld8+, you'll probably do better than him.
I also think a BsB would cost so many points in this list, that it totally changes the spirit of this list. (instead of focussing around the archmage, you will focus on CC)
those magic items you mention are so commonly used because they are good, cheap, and do their job.

Annulian Crystal is pretty damn useful too.
a BSB isn't about killing. A BSB is about staying alive - if you equip him offensively, or with a magic banner, you're leaving him too vulnerable. Armour of Caledor and Guardian Phoenix is all you need.
so would it work better if i change it so i supplement my archers with more to my spearmen group and maybe fit in a chariot?
And is there any other magic items that are good for the archmage? I just feel like there should be some nice items for a mage since he has sorta low stats
I don't really play on putting in a BSB in a small game like this
And my final question: is it worth it to equip SM or Phoenix with magic items?
"Follow me if I advance. Kill me if I retreat. Avenge me if I die"
@realitycheque : At this points cost a BSB with AoC, Guardian Phoenix and GW is a really killy character. There aren't many characters at this points level that really are a threat.
I'm totally with you when you're talking about a 2k army. But at this scale it really is a huge points sink.
@spitfire: All of our arcane items are good, and they all have their use for an archmage. But i think the silver wand is the best choice in this army (because it's cheap )
Equipping the SM and Phoenix guard with magical items is a good option, but you have to make sure the item has a specific goal.
example: If you're fighting empire you could give your SM champion the talisman of loec to use in a challenge, and kill an enemy character(wizard,BsB,warrior priest)
