owké this list worked very well in a match against skaven you deploy the lothern seagaurds on 1 line so they can al shoot and they reform when the enemy is to close!the pure of heart mage joins the swordmasters the other one joins the seaguard!after the deployment you move with the eagles and the dragon after 2 turns you are behind their lines and you can spit fire with the dragon and because of a item also with the prince the eagles will perform their blocking the marshmoves!when some groups are weack you can charge them with the dragon and 1 eagle!while this is happening you can shoot at the rest and after a while you can charge with the silverhelms!this worked against skaven because he kille 4 silverhelms and an eagle and i killed his whole army!luck or a good list?
Not luck but not a good list either. You won because you had a dragon with 2 breath weapons on it. Yes, it works well against skaven. I'll work well against everything. Don't bring a dragon in a list under 3K. The whole game was about the dragon I bet. And that's the problem with dragons.
now that is the mistake many people makes!the dragon only did his breath weapon and marchblokking!on the whole battle he wiped out 1 group of slaves=>40p my swordmasters combined with the chariot did most of the work!even my 8silver helms killed more!the dragon is just bait actually he will trie to charge itt i flee and countercharge with silverhelms or swordmasters!they also used al the shooting on the dragon so it's not my fault that the otherone is playing stupid:yes:
No, it's not your fault that your opponent was stupid. However it does prove my point. For your opponent the whole game was about the dragon. And what you did with the dragon was actually the toughest way to just hop around and cause panic and terror checks. I know. I played with a dragon when I just started and quit quickly just because it's so powerfull.
It's just frustrating that most HE players these days believe that they need a dragon or tons of magic to win. Not true!!!
i'm not saying that i need a dragon to win i just never used a dragon before and wanted to discover how strong it was!mostly i'm play with a lot of silverhelms and stuff!buth if i had to replace the dragon in this list what should i do with the remaining points?
Cant remember how many points the dragon are worth but you could try with a nice good block of spearmen. They can always come in handy. If you got the points, maybe 2.
Try and create a "real" army. I mean expect yourself living in the setting. What would you see on the battle field? I mean all cav armies are pretty much out, so are dragons. They are extreemly rare. A "real" army has the majority of US in rank and file units (infantry). And I don't mean all elite infantry like swordmasters. Think of it in modern times. If an US army goes to war will 90% of the army be navy seals? I don't think so. The majority is always your normal foot trooper. I would just like to see more people create a real army feel. Ok, you won't win as much with it but when you do it'll be much more satisfying. I mean if you win with a dragon and all cav and elite infantry without a single unit of base troopers (spearmen) it's not a big deal. However if you lose with it you reall screwed up somewhere. So pretty much a no win situation. And trust me you can win with a ballanced list. I think any HE army with decent fluff should have at least 2 units of infantry (one of which should be spearmen, at 2000 points that is). Filling your core requirement with Heavy cav is just pushing it. In most other armies they would be special.
Just try it. some infantry, some cav, some shooting and some magic. Put it on the tabletop and you will see it looks like an army.
Your army has a total of 55 models. Can you really call that an army? I often see Ogres with close to that amount of models without taking gnoblars.
