Hello all. I haven't had a battle in a little while, and was just wondering whether you thought this army was any good.
Additional Hand Weapon, Halberd
Armour of the Gods
Vambraces of Defence
Mage Lv2: 170pts
Mage Lv2: 175pts
Jewel of Dusk
Ring of Fury
20 Spearmen: 250pts
6 Silver Helms: 145pts
6 Silver Helms: 145pts
2 Tiranoc Chariots
19 Swordmasters: 297pts
Bladelord has Amulet of Fire
2 Bolt Throwers
PD: 7 and 1 Bound Spell
The main idea is to use the eagles to march block and the chariots and silver helms to combine flank charge while the swordmasters and spearmen hold the centre.
Let me know :ninja:

The list is OK, do not post pts costs since a mod will catch you . The Silver Helms units are just a tad to small to deal with most good enemy units and instead of a prince who dies easily a Lv4 Archmage would be great. And 2 Chariots are a little risky in a 2000pts battle since S7 attacks can destroy them.
"Well... that hurt" - Vampire Jon Skellan (Mannfred's right hand man) after being beaten up, falling down an underground waterfall and being impaled by a stalactite.
I like this list very much! I dont think you should change it at all. You somewhat have all the things that is needed ^^ Be careffull with the swordmasters though. They tend to die pretty fast...use a SH unit to charge with, and then flank with the swordmasters
Ofcourse the list could be changed but thats all up to the personal preferences.
Getting some Dragon princes
Try the White Lions
Those kinda things you know
Thanks very much guys. I intend on charging with the swordmasters and prince into the front of a unit and then hitting that same unit in the flank with either a chariot or the silver helms. The prince can level out 4/5 str6/5 attacks a turn, and should cut through rank and file quick enough.
A nicely balance list! I like your Lord combo.
My only concern would be that with only two 'line' units, you will not have much chance to flank. Since we elves are almost always outnumbered in the line, most enemies will have 4+ units in their line, the silverhelm/chariot combo you are thinking to flank with are likely to end up having to hack through an enemy 'line' unit too.
If this proves true, you might want to trade your archers for command/reinforcement for one of your silverhelms. Or maybe another chariot? Might give you the punch needed to collapse a flank to exploit.
Or maybe give your lord a mount and put him with the reinforced silverhelm unit since the Swordmasters pretty much rule on a charge anyway. This prolly changes the feel of the force you had in mind, but might something to try if you find your flanking plan doesn't pan out after a couple of battles.

How do you line them up? Sounds like you keep your Lord with the troops. I always wondered how this strategy would work
Eagles block and then hit the warmachines (if they survive that, they hit the opposing mages from the rear)
Arm the Commander (a bit cheaper) with Reaver bow to snipe. Everyone marches fast or slow up the middle til contact, then the charge with spears and flank/rear with SH and chariots. Swordmaster side goes a little bit faster/further up the line and that side swings the "gate" closed. Having your mages/commander in the middle the move up in the protection of the spears until they hit their range and unleash Flame of the Phoenix and the Reaver bow on the opposing magicians and leaders or what's left of the warmachines.
