    2000pt high elf army

    Gotta watch those points costs ~ Stonehambey

    I have recently started collecting high elves and was planning to take them to this years GT. How do you think this army could be improved/what do you think of it?

    Archmage 355

    1998 Points

    The archmage would go in the unit of 17 spearmen unless there was somewhere better to hide. the commander with the lion cloak would go with the silver helms and the BSB with the dragon princes.
    my setup would probably be the majority of my army in the centre with a cavalry unit down each flank

    Archmage with the book of Hoeth is very nasty indeed, you should have a lot of fun with that!:tongue:

    I also like the rare slots, eagles and Bolt throwers are usually quite a pain in the rear end^_^

    I like the cavalry slots, they should do a good job, a couple of chariots would really help their cause though(Y)

    My only concern with this army is the fact that you have very little magic support fro your archmage. The banner of sorcery would be a real boon here, as the extra power dice in the pool would really help you with the irresistable force spells.

    Otherwise, equiping your mage as follows might be a better idea:

    Archmage: 350
    Annulyian Crystal
    Guardian Pheonix
    Seer Honour

    That gives you 4 picked spells (if you take high magic take, curse of arrow attraction!!), you remove power dice and your archmage has a ward save, incase of stray cannon balls!!

    One good trick is take four bolt throwers and use your two eagles as mounts for heroes...

    This way you get a huge support from the four bolt throwers (24 shots a turn!) AND you can take out your enemies war machines with the eagles...
