just got the new white dwarf, and under the lion chariot entry, it says:
"crewed by white lions and pulled by their animal namesakes, this chariot is one of the hardest hitting in the game with four s5 and two s6 attacks..."
im not sure of this, but since they are mounted with greatweapons, they should only get +1 s to their attacks..
yeah it's wrong indeed... a chariot counts as mounted so likewise the white lions get str 5 instead of str 6...
In my opinion I like the old rule more, the Gw is hardly used in 7th edition.
Yeah, they are only s5, but with all the impact hits that is on average 10.5 S5 hits on the charge! That's really nasty!
A traditionel GW White dwarf mistake.
The WL only are S5 while on the chariot.
Still, the damn thing is soooo nasty on the charge.
Bucket load of good normal attacks AND impact hits.
Not to mention the nice extra fear.;Y

I love the concept of the model, but I have fluff issues with it.
Each region of Ulthuan was known for their "specialty" military unit. Lothern had the Sea Guard, Chrace had the White Lions, Saphery had the Swordmasters, etc....
Tiranoc was known for their chariots. But now Chrace is coming into that scene, and completely outshining Tiranoc in every aspect. Stronger, causes pscyology issues, more attacks. There really is nothing that the Tiranoc Chariots can do that the Lion Chariots can't do better.
So thats my only real issue for the model. Other then that, I really look forward to using it.

Personally I think that it is too fast (should be 7" like a cold one). I didn't think that a lion could outrun a horse let alone for a long period of time towing a chariot, big cats are sprinters very short distance.
That or hide and jump on you when you aren't looking.;o
Still a cool model and nifty idea though
i admit i was surprised by it when i first heard of it (after my jaw dropped at the model)
and yes it does seem to have outshone and outclassed the tiranic chariot. I mena whos honestrly going to take it over the white lions

you can still mount your heroes in tiranoc chariots (and it doesn't use up a special slot to do it, they're just mounts now) and a tiranoc chariot is 55pts cheaper.
I think you'll still see plenty of tiranoc chariots about.
"i am a leaf in the wind, see how i soar"
imo, none of the chariots are that good, but I would definately take a tiranoc over the lion chariot, unless I was just playing a silly game. They're T4. That means you have to screen for them (we don't have screening units except the WL) or they get shot by handguns or even arrows and die. Or a suped up bolt thrower or cannon will do the trick. I don't know why you would spend that many points and use up a special slot anyway, when you could take SM or WL or DP instead, all of which have a better chance of getting to the enemy alive.
I don't think it's wise to stick a chariot with a character for the same reasons. Our characters aren't cheap enought to throw away like the goblin chariot driver of doom (they have lots of screening units too)
hi, i was thinking that the lion chariot may be good but its 140 points so it does pay for it. I think it would be cool to have a chrace themed army then you could convert your commander to ride a lion with the new plastic kit because that has an axe and a lion cloak to use
