got a looky looky at this awesome new model on saturday and myself and a staff member picked some thigs up on it.
You have enough body parts arms and stuff for both a mage and a fighty elf. So you make both of them and them decide which one you want.
Also if you can get the wing sprue on its own you can make two dragons out of the set as it has two heads and two tails on the one sprue. Assumin GW will let you buy it seperately o course
Theres a little baby dragon on there (which the missus loved) and an oversized beak canary supposedly a pheonix.
And oodles of extras its a fantastic kit
WELL SAID, NO MORE SQUATS THEY ARE DEAD GET OVER ITOriginally Posted by artificer
Wow.. I knew it could be either a prince or a mage, I didn't know it had all that extra stuff. i may have to aim to get it a bit earlier than christmas. It sounds pretty cool.
Not sure about making both models. Potentially, you could easily. But I think the idea of the dragons was the paint scheme would determine if they were sun, moon or star, so you wouldn't be able to switch types as easily. Of course, as long as you let your opponent know which type you have I'm sure it will be fine.
what I would do is build both and stick a magnet under the hero's rump and another on the dragon's neck - that way you can play both. If you really wanted to get fancy, you could get a magnet in the dragon's head and neck and switch out heads to delineate which dragon (sun, moon, star) you were playing with as well. Get some of those rare earth magnets and have a ball.
I'll admit, this is probably the best dragon model that GW has ever made and since it's plastic, there's a chance the model won't fall over and destroy your troops.
they do still sell the older style of plastic wings from GW. The problem you'll have is finding a decent body replacement
Is the spare head/tail done so you can make it either sun/moon/star dragon? And wouldnt you need an extra body as well as wings to make a 2cnd dragon. And If you get 2 spare horses with the lion chariot (becuase you can choose between lion and tiranoc) so you could plonk the spare hero/mage on one of them. Oh and is the baby dragon big enueg to pull a chariot. If so I am bieng pulled to a caledonian army (why did they call it caledonia anyway becuase dragon princes dont seem very similar to ancient picts?)

the baby dragon is attached to one of the hero's arms like a hunting falcon I think. The others are all the same size and the different head/tail is just for some variation ~ not to delineate a certain type.
I meant the baby dragon model he were talking about not the sun dragon. And were did you think they got the caledor from? Im guessing caledonia becuase of the mountain thing.
Aww man on both accounts. Now the dragon idea is stuck in my usless head and I'll have to find the right size od dragon now. At least I was only planning on ever using the sun dragon so ahhwell.
If you really like the idea of a chariot pulled by dragons, take a look at this thread in the conversions forum <LINK> (Lion Chariot with Dragons?). There's several ideas there of what could be used to represent a small 'dragon'.
EDIT: 500 posts. Woo!
