Does anyone know if I can use him in the new HE lineup? I had a look of the new army book and it only lists the Eltharion on Stormwing and did not mention about the blinded Eltharion. However, his profile is still available on GW.
I have spent a bit of time painting him, and it will be disappointing if I cannot use him at all
Eltharion is no longer blind. I'm not sure how GW decided to pull that. The Eltharion the Blind model was awesome.
I think Stormwing might be optional. Makes sense, since Korhil can choose to ride a Lion Chariot. So you could use it as a foot model of Eltharion, not sure how to justify the blindfold though.
Looks like Stormwing can "unblind" people........, I like the abilites that Eltharion the Blind has...shame
And yes, Stormwing is an option for 250 pts or 350 pts, i cant remember.....

there are two eltharion characters - both of which have nothing to do with each other. Early on (4th or 5th edition) Eltharion rode Stormwing and hated goblins, then, in 6th edition, there was a different version of Eltharion that hated DarkElves and went to the White Tower and learned all the sword dances. GW may have had the same guy in mind, but due to the fluff I've read, I can't see that these two are related in any way. I think they even stated they were from different areas of the country.
As far as using the character, you'll have to wait 10 days til the book comes out.
Basically he was the guy who rides around on the Griffon, then the Witch King beat him up, blinded him, and made him grumpy and bitter and be became the blind sword-toting guy. GW obviously felt nostalgic about the earlier version of the character.
I thought the book came out on the 6th?
If anybody disagrees with me Chuck Norris will roundhouse kick you in the face.....not really. But wouldn't it be cool?
I can confirm that Stormwing is going to be 205 pts. And for those who is thinking about how to transport the dragon, good news! the wing fit perfectly on to the body without glue and will sit there, and it is not hard to take them off when you want to.

:roflwooo I dont have to glue the dragons wing back on every 5 minutes or so8X
The warhammer store page on the GW US site still lists Eltharion the blind and says he is usable and has the picture of the blind model. Perhaps since his rules were first introduced in chronicles and not in the army book about to replace the current he can still be used?
