Hello, today a single piece of wargear caught my attention. The amulet of light, basicaly makes all of the character's attacks as well as his squad's magical. It sounds really good, especialy for the lousy ** points you pay for it. Plus, its an enchanted item so more than one character can have it. So my question is, if I give it to an archmage on a dragon, do the dragon's CC attacks become magical??? If so, than the dragon can now easily take down ethereal creatures like wraiths which would realy make me happy. From my perspective, yes they do, but I am not too sure about this since the dragon is kind of a mount, not realy the squad...
Rulebook page 120 : "No specific magic item can be carried by more than one model in the army..."
The type of magic item makes no difference.
I suppose its effectiveness really depends on who you are fighting. If they have lots of units that are only harmed by magical attacks (or damaged more by them) it could be very useful indeed. I should probably get the book tomorrow so I'll have a close look at the magic items!
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

The way I see it the dragon and the mage are a unit so all of they're attacks are magical. it would be the same for Cavalry their hooves and teeth would strike with magical demon killing power.
Drain Magic is working slightly differently now. It casts on a 7+ and lasts until the casters next magic phase. It adds 3 three to the casting value for a spell. Deciever is right, our spells will cast even on a negitive casting value but it is still extremely powerful especially combined with the High Elves +1 to dispel! It meant that my Kings incantations and bound spells were all but useless until I had taken care of the mages!
err, I think you may have gotten your threads mixed up Will .
As for the Amulet of Light, it sounds like it would be amazing when used against tree spirits or daemons.

LOL silly me! Amulet of Light - very useful indeed, though if I had 15-20 points spare I would rather go for the amulet of fire.
