i have just read the new high elf army book
and i was thinking about a tatic for the dragon
my idea is get a prince with star dragon and star lance and bang on about how powerful it is then fly it round the battlefield hideing behind convient terrain pieces.
your opponent is now playing hide and seek with your dragon while you shoot his army to shreds.
sorry about the cheesy title;Y
Well,it sounds good it theory but your going to need a lot of firepower(bolt throwers come to mind)its also a lot of points, just concentrate all firepower on 1 big unit a turn and hope for the best.Psychological warfare sounds different though like drunk smilies:drinkingsry i just really wanted to use it).
ppl will hate you for playing this army.
so cheesy... but thats another way of psychological warfare as ppl get lazy, roll their eyes and forget things when all they do is get angry at your so-called 'cheesy' army.
never know about these things!
I can't help thinking that it's a horrible waste of points to spend 600 points plus on the dragon lord and then have him fly around the battlefield not actually destroying things.
Then, if you also spent so many points on shooting then your shooters would be a very easy target if your opponent gets any units over to them. If it's against a fairly slow army with little shooting of their own then it might work, but the player won't be very happy. Other armies with speed or good shooting would be more difficult to face.
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.

my list includes a shield wall to protect my archers and the dragon jumps on units that my opponent postions badld
and how is my list cheesy ;?
1 star dragon with prince
1 tiranoc chariot
2 bolt thowers
9shadow warriors :C
that is not cheesy
I'ld use the dragon to scare the heck out of your opponent, spooking flanks, making a mess of their battleline and let the infantry do their job both unmolested and from behind. big unit stregnth 5+ fliers that can break two units in a single combat phase do tend to raise eyebrows, skinny men in dresses do so less, two units can run through a dragon in a single turn and both will die. If you do get a flank though just charge it, you will win.
Everyone is scared of dragons, I'm more scared of bolt throwers; I can't be the only one.
well some one finally found a use for the dragon!
im struggling with this concept myself. what you could do also is to make it a slighlty less point sink make it a dragon mage, give him the star lance and use the other mages, one with the lore of life and the other with the lore of metal. you will cause all sorts of hassles and the DM becomes great on the charge. maybe even look at giving him a ward save instead of the lance and have him a crazy, maniacal, suicidal mage that will be an even greater distraction for your opponent
