Ive been playing for about 5 months and have learned alot about the game and have beaten alot of other armies. But a friend of mine plays Caos undevided. Everytime I play him he crushes me. We play 2000 to 2500 point games any help would be greatly needed
Lots of shooting (and magic) and swordmasters would be my bet.
If he were to play straight Slaanesh though then you'ld be doomed.
Up, up and away!
A List of what he had would be helpful so we can give you more specific advice.
he brings a few units of deamon flesh hounds and maruder fast cavilry to trow axes but these units i can handle easy after shooting them one time. But its the heavy cavelry with the mark of korn with a lord of caos armored to the hilt in the unit of heavy cavelry that just kills everything i can throw at it. ive tried to stay away and march block so they cant get me but the third turn he is in my face killing everything. heaven forbid if he brings more than one unit of heavy cavelry with the mark of korn and a hero that is slightly not as good as his lord.
thanks for any help
If he plays an undivided army then his general (the lord) must have the mark of chaos undivided and so cannot be included in a Khornate unit. He's been cheating you out of all those wins, tell him from me that none of those wins count.
Bolt throwers should still do the job, take four- they can pay for themselves in two shots.
can you still take the banner of arcane warding to do an instant wound to daemons, if so then ignore the flesh hounds, they'll kill themselves.
Swordmasters should still pose a serious threat to chaos knights, take a few smallish units and watch the knights fall.
Up, up and away!
i will have to get an exact list that he has made before i tell him he has cheated me. but what i do know is that is units of heavy cavelry are the best ones he says he can get.
i will post an exact list of his tommorow. thanks for the advice
Perfect way to sort out those khorne (chosen?) knights is to use a noble or prince with the star lance. Stick him in a unit of dragon princes and charge them in, they should be able to win easily and send them running. Swordmasters should also do the trick, but they would need a bit of support.
They are an extremely expensive unit so it is worth throwing a fair bit at them. A round or two of bolt shots, then a charge as above, or receive a charge with swordmasters and you should be able to send them running.
well actually the banner of arcane protection doesn't wound deamons and undead anymore...
I don't agree with strewart... being a chaos player i could tell you that if you use the star lance, you will probably be causing 2/3 kills, plus let's say 2 from the HE unit.
Then in return you get 6 attacks @ S7 from the lord, that mean 4 kills, plus 3 @ S5 from the champion that make 1 casualty.
It's not so easy to say who would win...i'd like to see this on the field
Anyway, the only safe way to deal with khorne is to make them charge what YOU want; and HE are especially good at this: use many fast cavalries as baits and then charge the knights in the rear with swordmasters or any other good cc troop.
Also, i think that even chaos knights would have a bad day charging in the front a regiment of 7x3 spearmen... hey 21 attacks before they can do anything...and 6s and 1s do occur...
Overall, I strongly suggest to rely on the frenzy issue
It's better, it's shiny, it's warped...it's Chaos.
If they are Khornate you can get them chasing after eagles and stuff all game, exposing flanks to bolt throwers and the like...
