Does anybody knows what the best lore is when playing against lizarmen and woodelves
I always use High magic and lore of death.
Against woodies, Life would be handy, as they like to hide in terrain and it can damage their shooting abilty too. Beasts can be handy too, mainly for the spell that can stop a Dragon from moving, but this can be used on Treemen or Wildriders, too. The lore can still damage as well.
Against Lizzies, well, anything except Metal, really. Maybe try shaddow, for the level 6 spell (an initiative teat template). Should wreak havoc on any Sarous unit, and the 3d6 s1 hits spell can even wound skinks on 5s! You also get a movement spell to try and sneak up on a Slaan with a Dragon or something. Fire is another good one - just make em hurt! Also, sureley High is a good lore against the Lizzies? Id be looking the simply Drain Magic, and strop a Slaan in its tracks.
since only one mage can choose his spells in the new book (seer staff) I would go with a lore that you know is going to do some damage or is going to be useful even if you don't roll the best spells. Most of the WE are ItP and have high leadership, and the lizzies I've played are pretty good at leadership too, due to cold-blooded. I would take High magic against both. In fact, the only lores I have taken in the past year no matter what army I'm playing is High magic, Fire, Metal, and Beasts. All of them have good and useful spells throughout the lore. Shadow only has 2 decent spells, but both almost require an archmage to cast or a powerstone. Death has good spells, but they are too dependant on other things to make them useful. High magic has everything you could possibly want. You can give your guys ward saves, shut down magic phases, make you stubborn, hurt the opponent (they don't get their ward against magic) so I would stick with High magic against both. Fire can be useful, but all the spells are damage spells it seems. Metal is really good against armor and warmachines, but neither WE or Lizzies have much of those. Beast Magic is good, but not as reliable or as useful against WE or lizzies in my opinion.
thanks for the tips!
High Magic and Lore of Life are my two big lores. An archmage with silver wand usually takes life or high magic, and my level 2 always takes high magic. I'll use Metal on occasion also.

Meh, high is more effective against both in my experience. Flames of the Phoenix is perfect, Drain Magic is helpful, Fury of Khaine is also useful against both. As a WE player i would be more threatened by High than Life by far. Life has the alot of the same limitations as the lore of Loren but Loren is better. Dont fight fire with fire, use a nuke instead.
The only magics I have used against wood elves have been fire, and high magic and they have done pertty good for me. Fire is a good espeacially if he runs a lot of forest spirts plus it has a lot of the damage spells, and high magic has a number of good spells especially drain magic, that spell pisses off so many poeple, espeacially when I use 2 archmages to make it +6 to every csting roll! Im not sure about lizzies but high magic is good for the drain magic spell and i guess fire would be good to for all of the damage spells.
Life does great against woodies if you have either the silver wand on an archmage or the seerstaff. Master of the Woods and Howler Wind both do great against woodies, one makes their hiding in woods tactic backfire, and the other makes it so that they can't shoot you since they have no warmachines.
High magic does well also.
And I refuse to believe that the Lore of Loren is better than Life. Master of Stone baby!!! The ultimate spell to take out warmachines.
