~Fluff-wise speaking- In the last edition Eltharion was blind after his battle with the silly 'ol Goblin King or something rather, and his statistics are presented in GW. In this new edition he is now possessing 20/20 vision, maybe more-so with his Wizard abilities, and has a good Griffon buddy- Stormwing.
~One minute he was a blind swordsman and the other a spell-slinging griffon riding warrior?
It's him before he was blinded.
~So the new version of Eltharion in the newest codex is him a while ago? Oh Games Workshop, what a tangled web of tales you weave...
Yep. They went backwards in his fluff to before he was blinded by Malekith.
I like this Eltharion better anyways. His griffon is better than regular griffons plus he can use magic.
The thing I would have liked if they had kept him as the swordmaster would be that each of the 3 elite infantry units (SM, WL & PG) would have had their own special charater, which would have been nice.
Fluff wise, I think it was not the wisest thing to do. If anything they should have kept both models. Since elves live for so freaking long, you could have battles that say take place before elthraion was blinded. Thats probally why they made the warden version.
I agree and I miss the blinded version sooo much
I wish they could have done the same thing to eltharion as they did to one of the special characters in the new VC, Manfred I think. You can choose which epoch he is from.
