Ok i am working on two different characters for my army
its a 2,500 pt army
my friend and I are going to have a battle soon and we may bump it up to 3000 so i can use both guys
With any of these characters i would love feedback
like if anyone used characters like these and what happened or if the items are good
ok for my prince:
i would like to give him these items:
The White Sword
Armour of Caledor
The Amulet of Light
i like the white sword because of the killing blow and the +2 Strength
now for the Armour of caledor,
i love the 2+ armor save but there is nothing about ward saves which can be a small problem
and the amulet of light makes all attacks magical.
i would like to put this character with some swordmasters.
Now with my mage
i would like to have him on bardedsteed
the items are:
Jewel of the Dusk
The Seerstaff of Saphery
i would like some armor that is under 45pts
i would like to use the armor of caledor for him also but i can't
Let me know what you guys think
i would love feedback
Hmmm. I would first of all consider dropping the white sword for a great weapon. The amulet of light makes the attacks magical first, so the sword isn't needed, apart from the killing blow, which it is overpriced for.
This drop of points might allow you to give him the vambraces of defence, giving him a more resistant armour save and a ward save to boot.
Your mage seems to have too many items of one type. Bear in mind he can only take one arcane, one enchanted etc..... Also, for the most part, mages can't take armour, so you have to protect him in some other way. May I suggest forlaith's robes? It gives you superb protection, and that will do on a mage.
Just my thoughts
good thing i was always playing house rules
i didnt know that
well thanks about the mage and the one item of each
The only exception to this rule are dispel scrolls and power stones. Unless the item is unique to the army, such as warpstone tokens for skaven, magic mushrooms for night goblins or null talismans for Dark Elves.
The Red-headed martial arts supremo has it here.
On the Prince, if you want him on foot, Armour of Caledor, Great Weapon, Vambraces of Defence and talisman of light will cover him.
For the mage, having him on a barded steed seems ok, but he can only take one of the three items you have given him. I would take Jewel of Dusk out of teh three, as it bolsters your magical defence and puts your opponent under pressure from teh start. However, an alternative is to give him the Seer staff and a bunch of dispel scrolls to help deal with those "must dispel" items. Else place him in a unit with a champion and give him the book of Hoeth so he can IF to his heart's content...
