Same question that is in the title. This is using the warband rules
Jewl of Dusk
(Effectively making him a level 2 mage for 25pts instead of 35)
(my core melee unit, why 16? cause i have no more )
(a bit of shootyness to help the mage wittle down units)
Armour of Caledor (for Champ)
(my hard hitter, used for flanking when possible, or to stop the enemy from flanking)
I'd start by suggesting you take a legal mage. May have just over looked the TWO arcane items he is carrying, namely the Silver Wand and Jewel of the Dusk. Dont know what this will will do to your list but if your not buying th extra level i suggest taking the silver wand for an extra spell. this means your army has two dice and your mage 1, 3 in total, and he has 2 spells to choose from, 3 if using high magic.
i would loose the standard on the archers unless in warband rules you dont get a bonus 100pts for catching it., Same with the sword masters.
The people I'm playing with don't use the banners rule don't ask why we just never really used victory points. So the banners don't really do anything for that, umm yes I did overlook that part on the mage. I don't see how i'll be able to cast 2 spells though on only 3 dice =(

you cant have 5 archers minimum unit size is 10
i feel like a horrible person now ...jsut dont tell the ppl you are playing with and u are fine...and the archer command is useless in the army that 25 points could buy magic items or seomthing nice
Beleive me the ilegal archer unit didnt escape notice but as they are playing WARBAND rules im not sure it matters.
Do you have to have 2 core in warband? if not swap the archers out for maybe an eagle.
As for the mage with your 3 dice, take the basic spell in most lores cast on a 5+ and throw one dice at it, leaving you two for a more trickier spell.
alright thanks, as far as the warband rules go, I believe the 5 man unit of archers is legal . as for taking off the extra spell dice, where should i put my extra points?
i JUST love being annoying so here goes teh question wheather they would require you to have the 2nd core is pointless as we only need to have 1 core in under 2000 so teh archers ARE expendable
I haven't played any WARBAND, but I do think that this might be the time when Sea Gaurd are at their best.
With 16 Sea Gaurd instead of spearmen you keep your shootiness, then you can drop the archers for something different, maybe more swordmasters to keep the Hoeth theme intact.
Alternatively go with 15 seagaurd and keep the archers, this will make your shooting + magic very difficult to deal with.
Thanks, if I drop the archers Ill have a few extra points to spare, after i upgrade my spearmen to Sea Guard.
