What are the usual unit sized for High Elf units, usually special choices? I am thinking 18 or 21 spearmen (3 ranks of 6/7), I seem to see one rank of 7 Swordmasters. What else do you think works best?
alot of people rows of 6 for swordmasters and white lions. I wouldnt mind taken 3 rows of 5.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
My spearmen are 25 5x5 with standard and warbanner with +7 combat res (4 ranks standard outnumber warbanner) and then there are 15 s3 attacks to add on. That unit kills stuff.
My swordmasters are 7 wide 1 rank or 15 5x3 There are 15 in my lion are across.
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
I like sword masters 7 wide.
Spearman 6 by 3 as with a character in there they get the look out sir rule.
Have not used the white lions or PG therefore I have no input on those.
DP five wide for wheeling and turning.
If you do a search or look at the threads downwards you'll find almost the same question. There should be some good answers there.

Okay, not the same question, but it could prove handy anyways.
5000p. High Elves
I find that while spearmen do allright vs. T3, lightly armored troops, they wilt against T4. I keep mine fairly plain 19 FC with wizard or character or 20 FC (maybe no champion) otherwise I use 10 archers for core.
PG really need a fighting character, and some numbers, so 17+FC and a BSB or something else that hits hard.
I've used White Lions in small units of 7 with a champion and they do well if I hit with them, otherwise, they also work well in the 6 wide spread with lion banner or a character, etc.
Dragon Princes need to be 6 wide with musician. I like to usually add a banner and warbanner as well so that if they get the charge, they have a chance at breaking the unit. The champion is too expensive imo unless he's carrying some sort of magic item you can't do without.
