Welcome to Librarium Online!
A bit of a snafoo came up while playing my friends Chaos army. Teclis, as we all know, allows irresistable on doubles. The problem arose when my friend cast Pandemonium, which causes all doubles to count as miscasts. How does this work? Do the two abilities nullify each other on Teclis? Does his overwrite Teclis's ability? etc.
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Well clarification is quite simple:
Since all doubles now immediately cause miscasts, and miscasts overrule irresistable force, whenever Teclis rolls a double he miscasts, just like any other mage, so long as that spell is in play. Bear in mind that he ignores the 1st miscast every turn though.
New LOChat functions now avaliable.

Yes that is the way it works, doubles become miscasts. If you read the book I believe it even gives this example four die 1,1,6,6 miscast goes first. Yes it is a real pain but you counter it by throwing lesser spells, meaning less die. Another fine example about how the HE do not have an all power list and even Teclis needs help with another mage. The key is not to let them get it off. Remember Teclis has that special dispell magical item. Removing that spell from the mind of you opponents 4th level mages mind. Hey it works sometimes but not nearly as often as I would like it to. At least now we do not forget about it.
Damn. I hate that spell so much. It's dirt cheap.
Thankfully Teclis has a scroll of hoeth.
Would you use scroll of Hoeth on Pandemonium or Gateway?
I always get nevrous with Gateway due to the large # of die they have to roll to get it off, if that thing goes irresistible it ain't pretty, and they you have all your DD and nothing to dispel. Both spells are nasty, Pandemonium also has that leadership removal, not as important as the miscasts, but still nothing you would want.
I love when they use Gateway. I've seen it work once out of about 20 times. Uses a good percentage of their cast dice and has an equal percent to be a miscast as an irresistible one. Even if they do get it off, with Teclis, you can dispell it easily enough.
I would use the scroll on pandemonium. With Teclis you can't take the chance of him miscasting
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
