Alright, recently used this bad larry in a "Clash of Kings" tourney. While not being a high elf (Lacking ASF), he still destroyed more than his points, which being a Mundane equipped prince on a moon dragon he should.
Okay, so my main point, has anyone else used him in lists?
Had any success?
can you tell some more about him?? i don't reckonise the name at all....

Asarnil is a Dogs Of War High ELf Lord on Dragon. He's reasonable, but not really hard enough in my opinion to cause the sort of damage that we can field i High Elf armies. Any Dragon is dangerous, and can cause havoc against smaller opposing units, but Asarnil suffers from all the HE weaknesses, and lacks the typical magical items we would have on our Dragon-riding characters to make up for T3...

You do have to remember he is a Prince in Hero's clothing, and by that cheaper than a Prince on a dragon (except for a sun dragon). He does have one magic item that removes the +1 to hit for large targets.
I don't like him very much. It can be as cheap as you want but seems too fragile to me and that magic item is a bit like "ok, he's an Elf we can't let him go with no magic" if you get what I mean. HE regular Princes with Dragons are far better, imo.
EDIT: and fluffwise, I don't like the idea of a Caledorian Prince selling his and his dragon's services for money in the old world at all.

In his fluff, he isn't selling his services, he is aiding allies. Only High Elves, Empire, and Lizardmen can take him.
But I agree with the weakness you bring up, but he is still a prince on a dragon, you just h ave to use him carefully (I.e. not charging Grave Guard).
Oh, and a Prince has better stats
Firstly, he's a DoW character, and that means that his rules aren't really legal anymore.
Aside from that, the idea of adding another dragon that is NOT a D.Mage is pretty appealing, however:
1) He is still an elf with low toughness and paper-thin mundane armor
2) Did you notice that his dragon technically lacks a scaly-skin save? It's not mentioned anywhere.
3) All of his attacks are mundane, and his only real item is basically a 6+ward vs. shooting.
Nah the dragon has a 4+ scaly skin.
Another mention: I'm not saying lets replace our Princes with him, but he makes a nice addition to an army, hes a Dragonlord for under 2K not bad at all! And though it's most likely a rumor ( a false one at that), but I heard that DoW were getting updated with their current army rules (I.e. Asarnil with ASF).
