if you give a prince shadow armour, and say reaver bow place him in shadow warriors unit would this be effective?
also what about this combo prince shadow armour and gem of hoeth plus jewel of dusk im runnin 2 mages 1 prince 1 noble..with the jewel every mage will get 2 pd to cast 1st spell of chosen lore also runing bound spell..
would either of these combos work for distrupting my opponent?
ok i read your post 3 times, and i still don't get wat you mean about the magic part..
as for the shadow warrior prince.. i think there are more effective builds (he will die very, very fast) but it will surely disrupt your enemy... costs a lot of points, but sure will disrupt him

well i played 2250 against d elf list pretty cheese list , i had my prince as a scout /skirmisher with ring of hoeth which made him level 1 mage as well gave him a long bow , and jewel of dusk plus 1 power dice
he used fire lore , and used firball which was impressive as the de player was so scared of drain magic he would let me get it off everytime almost
in the game the shadow warrior unit took out his bsb on a cold one chariot broke chariot off table , took out a 25 man strong unit of exicutiners and wounded hydra 4 times while taking 0 casulties
the extra dispell dice was great to have and he even got off drain magic once
so yes the build works
magic part 2 level 1 mages = 1 power dice each 2 pool dice 2 for my prince mage with jewel of dusk
split power dice betwenn other mages 2 each
also had a bound spell ring of fury ..so he had to use 1 dispell dice on that every turn

Well it looks to me like you have playtested it and like it so I would stick with it.
I considered the sniper lord as well, not with magic (by the way you only get Drain magic off if you choose High magic) but with Reaver bow or Bow of the Seafarer. In the end I decided against it as thePrince would have to be my general and my army wouldn't benefit from his leadership and my opponent would have 350 victory points that are very easy to get.
Also as far as the sniper lord goes, Alith Anar does it the best due to the fantastic magic items that he has, although I don't really like special characters but I don't mind him.
lol the gameshop manager was teh one who told me that all high elfs get drain magic , all high elf mages ..
