sorry about the spelling mistakes but dose anyone know wether teryon needs to stay on the 50mm base that is provided with him or can he be put on a cavorlry base as he rides a horse. please help.
I was at a tournament last week where somebody was asking about this and the general conclusion was that he should be on a monster base (50x50).
Current painting project: 2300 pts of Dwarfs in 5 weeks.
I'd say 50x50. First of all, it's the base you get when you buy the model, secondly the model itself was made for 6th edition if I am not mistaking, and in that ed. Malhandir used to be treated as a monster.
Yes, I am sure that he knows the size base that the miniature comes on and why, with the changing of the rules he is no longer on a monstrous mount.
I don't really think that ths is the place to ask that question though, better to approach Games Workshop for an official answer than our guesses.
Personally I think that if they were to redo the model it would be on a monster Base, because they want Tyrion to be special but purely in terms of rules a cavalry base is probably more appropriate.
Remeber that 4th edition Tyrion is on a standard cavalry base as well...so there is a precedent. most GW rules cover "using teh base the base the model was suppleid with" - I would state that the 6th ed Tyrion model needs to be on a 50x50 as he came on this base in the box, whilst the 4th ed can be mounted on teh 25x50 OR a 50x50 as either is valid per the model or per teh rules...
