In a upcoming 2000pt game I was thinking of going for 3 units of five White Lions with Champions+ a Noble with Great Weapon, Armour of Caldeor and Guardian Pheonix to lead one of them.
My thinking was they might make an interesting flanking force. The small unit size means I have more chance of outflanking and brining all my great wepaons to bare at once while my stubborness will give them good staying power.
I am most concerned about facing monsters such as Giants and Hydras and I figured White Lions might be the guys to go against them, and being able to bring as many attacks to bare as possible is important.
Small units are always vulnerable but I was wondering whether anyone had tried running High Elf units like this?
My only concern is that they only need to take a single hit before they no longer remove ranks. This could be an issue. You could try running them as 6's or 7s to avoid that problem.
i would make them a little bit larger indeed, probably 7 or 8.
this would make it possible to have a few casualties and still have the full CC power they can bring.

Yeah interesting points. Certainly I think I have the points over for a few extra White Lions. Will have to go through my collection and see how many I exactly have.
