I purchased this kit a while back (actually, it was my 2nd HE model after Caradryan, love how it looks) but haven't gotten around to actually putting it together. I'm curious what you guys think about it, and whether I should either play none, play just one (maybe accompany it with some other fast hard hitting units like DPs?) or get a few more and spam it (would look pretty nice visually, at least).
Experiences and advice in using them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I was a big fan of this in 7th ed, but with the new Line of Sight rules (DAMN YOU GW!) it's har to keep it alive.
You cannot expect them to run along with Dragon Princes, as chariots can't march, but it will be able to keep up with your infantry, so I'd rather use it as a combi charger with another unit.
In 8th edition,I'd actually rather use two Tiranoc Chariots as flankers or for taking out support units.
5000p. High Elves
I typically play 2 Lion Chariots, one with Korhil aboard. Itake them in conjunction with Dragon Princes with Banner of Ellyrion. As I dont usually face Gun Lines I believe that they offer a really good hard hitting CC unitcapable of breaking most enemy that they hit,I also use High magic so can usually protect them with 5+wards from Shield of Saphery from my 3 casters.First turn take it easy just moving the DPs allowing the Chariots to be level with them then you can multi-charge an enemy unit 2nd turn Get Korhil to take any enemy Challenges(with him ,a White Lion and 2 Lions attacking you should maximise points from challenge) plus with 2D6 impacts at S5 you should be hopefully 10 to 12 points up on Combat Resolution before your other Chariot (that causes fear)and the Dragon Princes and their mounts strike,Once Korhil survives you should be stubborn on the off chance that you lose the combat.
I've been running one along with 2 tironac chariots and I've had alot of success them at 'Ard Boyz.
Yeah, They Are Alright, Nowhere Near As Good As They Used To Be, Considering "Steadfast" Means Winning By 10 Doesnt Help Anymore And Rolling Dice For Charges Makes Multicharges Much More Risky. In Larger Games You Can Use Them As Deadly Flankers Um But I Own Two And They Dont See Much Use.
I got the chariot box, took the sprues out, then after a moment of blankness where i lost all control and track of time I had a fully assembled lion chariot. The tiranoc pieces were lying ignored on the table top. I'm sorry, I never even considered, or even remembered that it could be assembled any other way because it just looks so cool......luckily i have another chariot box to assemble. This one is still firmly wrapped in plastic until I'm sure i've worked up the will power to resist the lure of the lions and make it a tiranoc.... oh who am i trying to kid, of course i'll make another lion chariot, i just can't help it.
