Just wondering if Caradryans Phoenix Blade adds +1 in S, as it is a Halbard?
I've always read it so, even though book and errata do not specify it. So basicly if you want to stick to the rules no, if you want to use some more common sense I'd say yes.
Hope it helps, and hope that somebody brings in evidence that +1 Str is the way!
I've always heard that the the Phoenix Blade is not, in fact, a Halberd with +1S. Though the flavor text says that it is, the actual rules do not say anything about it. For example, The Star Lance explicitly says "follows the rules for lances". Other weapons, in other armybooks also state something along the lines of "treat this weapon as a ____, which also...".
Caradryan is already S4- so consider that the +1S is already included in his profile. It's not enough that the thing does D3 wounds and counts as Flaming? Now you need to be S5 as well?
To be honest, I've never like Caradryan as a character, just because he's not S5, and that weapon doesn't do much for him anyways.
Yeah Capt that's the fact, that weapon is almost useless if it doesn't grant S5. I mean, who do you need Multiple Wounds against? Characters and monsters. So basicly high Toughness and high saves. I hope GW will fix it in a future errata, as I like Caradryan.
On the games workshop errater, it states that on Page 71 of the High elf rule book that the phoenix blade should be changed to "halberd" so I would say it would get the +1 Str for being a halberd. As a magic greatweapon still has +2 strength and a magic bow can fire arrows. It does not always say it but it's just common sense.
You're right! I must have overlooked it somehow. Thanks theconman10, have some rep!
Indeed - that has been there since, I believe, shortly after the 7th ed book was released.... So Caradryan is S5 with flaming attacks

Dont forget that Korhil and the White Lions also have the +1 strength.
I've heard that people think that Korhil is best to go in the PG and Caradryan is best in the WL?
Is it true? And why?
