I've been considering taking Teclis, and I want to know what to put him in to keep him safe, spearmen, archers, lothern sea guard, phoenix guard, or white lions?
My thoughts are kind of like this:
Spearmen-cheap unit that I can afford to sit back with to keep him out of combat, but if they get into combat, he's toast
Archers- they can actually do something by sitting back, but are even worse in combat...
Sea Guard- more expensive, but better in combat than archers, and can help out outside of combat
Phoenix Guard- ward save helps keep them around, and halberds make them better in combat
White Lions- better than PG in combat, and can put him in woods, to keep him safe from fast cav and flying monsters hopefully.
As I haven't actually played yet, these are only assumptions. I would like some help from people that have used him as to best protect him. THANKS!
Phoenix Guard are probably best, personally I think that you are better in a unit that doesn't already have a Ward save since Teclis will probably be life and regen is wasted on PG.
I think that a unit of spears is my favourite, they are cheap in case of miscast and can be more numerous than most units, they shoul have the ranks to be steadfast and be enough defense to deter most hunters. The WL in a forest thing is basically pointless since forests are barely a speed bump anymore, if the forest was going to be nasty it would be nasty to the WL as well as any chargers, you don't really want a stupid or frenzied Teclis if possible.
Ok. Also, if I had two different spear regiments and a lvl2 with shadow, would playing switch-a-roo help?
