A friend of mine plays with the Skaven and I suppose I'll battle him soon.Anyway, seeing as how it's going to be a 500 point battle,I was planing on taking a mage. The problem is his Skitterleap spell and I'm sure he'll be using it to teleport his Assasin behind my lines to kill my spellcaster.I've thought about putting the mage in a unit but that would limit his line of sight and he would just get killed in Cc.I could dispel his spell but I'm also sure that he'll first cast some other stuff just to waste my them. :hmm:
Any help is appreciated.
At 500 points I doubt he will be casting too many other spells to waste your dispel dice. I also suggest taking a commander instead of a mage, magic is very expensive, especially for High Elves, at such a low point game.
Putting the mage in a unit doesn't restrict his LoS by a huge amount, you will still be able to hit where you like if your unit is positioned correctly. It won't protect him though, it just means the assassin will probably die as well from the rest of the unit. he will teleport into base contact and kill you.
A commander with the Gem of Hoeth is probably the best of both worlds for your list. Mount him on a barded steed, and give hima lance, shield and heavy armour and you have a spellcasting tank that will be able to take all comers!
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.
