Hi everyone. I just signed up for this board a few minutes ago and thought it would be grand idea to post two army lists for a game on Wednesday, and see what everyone thinks. We are nearing the end of our Warbands tournament, and obviously the Warbands rules still apply. I won the last team battle (begining the 500 points list week) so I have an extra 15 points to toss around. Here are my two ideas;
List 1 - Malthrandhir's Expeditionary Force
Commander, Great Weapon, H. Armour, Shield, Reaver Bow
- 122 Pts.
- 120 Pts.
6 Silver Helms, H. Armour and Shields, FC
- 173 Pts.
Rpt. Bolt Thrower
- 100 Pts.
Total: 515 Pts.
My plan would be to sit back and shoot with the majority of my list, then when the enemy gets close enough charge them in the flank (preferably) with my Silver Helms.
List 2 - Corwin's Knights of Tor Achare
Commander, Steed w/ barding, SoM, Shield, H. Armour
- 113 Pts.
6 Silver Helm Knights, H. Armour and Shields, FC
- 173 Pts.
12 Spearmen, Musician (arranged in 4x3 Ranks)
- 138 Pts.
- 85 Pts.
Total: 509 Pts.
In this list I would base my movement around my Spearmen, giving them the job of acting as my anvil. My Commander with the unit of Silver Helms would sweep around one flank, while the Chariot would do so on the other. Or, if the enemy has a particuarilly strong unit, then they would advance together.
So what list do you think would be better? Obviously if I do more than one battle I can use both, but due to time constraints I may only be able to have one battle. Feel free to critique the lists, as well as add or change some things. However, I would prefer is the lists remain somewhat true to the form they are currently in. Thanks for your help in advance, and I hope I get to know you all better in the future.
Shooting is awsome in small points battles so I'd take the first list over the second. Since your using warband rules you might want to drop 2 of the silver helms and get 3 shadow warriors to slow their advance and get 1-2 extra turns of shooting.
I ended up using the first of the two lists as you suggested Shortstop and absolutelly slaughtered my Dwarf opponent. My firebase performed admirably, greatly reducing the number of my enemies units. Meanwhile, my Silverhlems marched up the right side of the board and finished what remained of the units. Thanks for your help.
personally i would use the second because of the fact that i face alot of lidzerman and my shooting does nothing to them. Usually in small battles my opponent doesn't have alot of strong units so i was able to flank the slow saurus while i engaged them from the front
But thats just my opinion
