    HE vs Black coach

    Hello all..

i need to know WHAT takes out a Vampire Counts black coach, or at least what would deal enough wounds. i played a 1000pt battle and lost..(too my stupidity)(and bad dice rolls)
but i was caught up in a sticky situation with the coach and my spearmen with the dire wolves attacking at my flank. i got rid of the wolves but what HE model matches the Black Coach?

A character with the Armour of the Gods and a Great Weapon=Strength 7= coach->matchwood
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
    Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
    Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD

If i remember correctly, does it not have a 5+ save? if so in theory... not practice...lots of shooting should be able to drop it. I would imagine that a Bolt Thrower should be able to give it a good whacking especially when able to do D3 wounds.

I don't know about armour saves, but a Black Coach has a 5+ Ward, yes.

    Its normal save is 4+...

Bolt throwers are the way to bring it down with high elves, though it can be tough since there isn't a lot of high strength stuff for elves. With the mentioned combo above you can get a character with s7. not worth it just to get the coach though IMO. He can avoid it.

Field 2 RBT's and a Mage with the CoAA spell and Seer honour. Cast CoAA on the Coach and do solid shots - just watch it crumble into undeadish, wooden er... splinter-things. Ok, so the end omy last sentence wasn't thought out too well, you get my drift! :p
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
    Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
    Down the Noldor's proudest king.

Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.

You mean that this thing wouldn't be good?

    Elf Prince - 225pts
Armour of the Gods, Swordmaster Honour, Guardian Phoenix
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
    Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
    Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD

    hmm..thanks for that.
bolt throwers are expenive though. i played a 1000pt in which i pumped alot into 2 lv 2 mages (seers and jewel of dusk)mounted too. i opted for 10-12 swordmasters, 10 archers, 14-16 spearmen, 5 silver helms. i was heavily outnumbered by zombies and skelies (with shields). i basically had to have mages to stop the invocation of Nehek spell.

i guess i need to play a bigger point battle to fit more rare units.

    thx for the advice!

((the strength 7 character will take the coach out for sure!))

One thing to be wary of... there's a GW-armed Wraith driving the Coach, so, while the Impact Hits might go on the unit, the Wraith can still harm your Prince. I'd use a movement spell to get the Prince to chrge the Chariot, or hold it with a unit and flsank charge with the Prince or somesuch.

No, not at all Teron. I was just putting forth an option for you to be able to take the model out at range and quickly. My option is also a viable one for any points cost, whereas a prince is availble at 2k plus and must pass a terror check to strike most effectively. I'd much rather not deal with a beast like that in CC if at all possible!
