so I've heard some really great things about High Elves and I really want to check em out. I dont have a codex and havent even glanced in one of the books. So due to my pretty horrible luck I tend to stay away from magic (unless for defense) and more towards heavy infantry with shooties and cavalry as support. I guess my question is do High Elves do that kind of play? What units should I stick with and which ones should I not use? Any cool special rules that certain units have (I love my friends Black Guard /w hatred and stubborn lol). Any other help u guys come up with will be very appreciated.
You get good shooting in bolt throwers, and HE magic is extremely good defensively and could be used as nothing more than defensive magic.
The main cavalry, silver helms, are pretty good. There aren't any tough units at all, swordmasters hit hard with great weapons but are fragile and won't survive too long.
Heres a hint, don't. i was sucked into being them through their very cool fluff, but i found later that i was lucky to win ONCE every Ten Games. so unless you like losing, or REALLY like the HE, dont be them. This is very hard for me to say, considering i have 4000 points of them.
You just haven't mastered them yet.. Neither have I really, and I'll admit they are a hard army to play. If you stick with them, you can get fairly good and be competative though.
OMG thank you!! i was gonna go high elves also and im a chaos player lol.. but now i wont. You saved me alot of money hah..
no dont listen to me, seriously. looking back at those posts, i regret putting them up. ive come to realize, that im just doing stuff wrong. so dont take my word for it. or was that just you kidding? hmmmm...... :shifty:Originally Posted by Khamal
