I was wondering which ring you prefer and what is your favourite way to use it?
Ring of CORIN - pricless against fully equiped lords, otherwise invincible in HtH or some nasty Banners...(i love destroying Dispel Scrolls!)
Ring of FURY - comes in handy when your 400pt:w00t: Archmage is left alone threatned by a unit of Fell Bats...
Have fun !
give me Corin.
the ring of fury is the one i use the most but it can drain itself so i always have a lore mage with second sigh to rerol that dreaded 1.
Corin :shifty: i have a 50 pints magic armour...not anymore:shifty:
godda love it.
Its gotta be Corin for me also.
First turn against Wood Elves on Thursday night. I flew my Archmage to within 24", drained all his Dispel dice and then just laughed my arse off as I saw the look on his face when he realised he no longer had his Hail of Doom arrow on his noble :w00t: .
With it he would have no doubt destroyed one of my units of Archers which went on to shoot the crap outta him.
Gotta love it
*Painting In Progress*
*Planning Stages*Thousand Sons of Chaos, Melekh's Host - 2000 Pts
Ogre Kingdoms, Tribe Of The Blooded Gut - 3500 Pts
Khorne Daemonic Legion, The Hordes Of Blood - 2000 Pts
Nurgle Possesed Ravenwing Army, The Rottenwing - 2000 Pts
I'm a fan of both, though they come up at different times. Corin is more likely to draw out 2 dispel dice.
If you are taking a magic heavy army, both can quite easily fit in your list.
The Hierarchy Chaotica: Kinky Sex > Change > Disease > Blood
98% of the population actually believes these stupid statistics. If you're part of the 2% of humanity with a brain, put this in your profile.
I'd say corin, usually. It's a good substitute for an eagle mounted commander's reaver bow quite often (behind a dwarf line where one item is destroying your magic phase, for example). Also, even if it's dispelled every time, being power level four chances are it'll take two dispel dice with it.
corin definately. just watching my opponents faces as destroy there magic items is priceless
I agree the ring of corin is the best. Only 5 points more and nobody wants to loose their magic items. The the power level 4 is huge. It does mean it pulls 2 dispel dice.
Played against a 6 DD army with my 7 PD HE and both bound rings. At turn 4 I had a horrible miscast and my archmage was completely useless (12 on the miscast , well not completely she just couldn't cast anymore but on my last turn I charged her into a fleeing dwarven lord on shieldbearers and she came only 2" short of running him down, after she already ran down a beastlord earlier in the game, it's funny when your mage runs crap down by herself).
Anyway I took lore of metal and after the magic phase my opponent only had one magical banner left (all other runes were destroyed) a unit of crossbows and a unit of hammers all had their weapons destroyed (other 2 block units only had hand weapon and shield).
Gotta say I love the ring of corin.
Yes, Corin does seem to be the better of the two, although they both seem very good. I've never been in a battle big enough to afford eithrer, but I can just imagine wasting my opponents magic items like that. You can use the ring on the same person more than once, am I right?
You can use it as many times as you like against whomever you like, but only once per turn on any one person, and it can only destroy one item per turn. So, if you wanted to take that Dwarf Lord's runes of Snori Spangelhelm and whatever else, you'd have to take a rune each turn for about 3 turns.
But he has to tell you which runes are on the person you target, and you get to choose of course, which one is destroyed.
Actually in the case of Vaul's Unmaking the spell, I think it destroys all the runes on any one item. This therefore means you can remove a weapon with 3 runes in one spell. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
