Well i have another questiong about my upcoming HE army that im building. THe main question is; would 2 RBT and small archers unit be to much shooty in a small (1-1.5k) point game? The rest of the units i would be using consist mostly of spearmen and silverhelm. I would be playing against brets somtimes and i thought the RBT against his huge cavelry ranks would help...any ideas?
oh yeah and if anyone knows... can RBT's work with only 1 remaining crew member? and do they have any penalty for doing so?
In 1k points, 2 RBT and a unit of archers coupled with HE magic is a lot of ranged attacks. If you can fit it in then go for it, but it won't be much fun to play against if your opponents units are reduced to about 3 models by the time he reaches you.
Although if you're playing against brets then they deverve it:shifty:
As for the RBT with one crew member, it would only be able to fire every other turn
Nay, a bolt thrower with only two crew initially suffer no harm from the loss of one of them so HE ones can fire as normal. If a bolt thrower starts with 3 or more crew, and is reduced to 1, then they can only fire every other turn. Ours are good to go without penalty.Originally Posted by stonehambey
HE archers aren't terribly good, I wouldn't take them in small games.. Not because its too much shooting, but because they aren't worth it. 2 bolt throwers and a bit of magic is quite sufficient long range.
alright thx for clearing that all up
Ah, i did ne' know that, cheers Strewart. I guess it's a case of either being able to fire every turn or not fire at all.Nay, a bolt thrower with only two crew initially suffer no harm from the loss of one of them so HE ones can fire as normal.
