I was thinkin on new themes for high elves armies - then I realised that High Elves doesn't have an "Alaitoc Craftworld" sort of army. Now - I think the chariots look awesome - and i 2k games you can field about 6-8 of them. What if you field some heroes on chariots - give them ranged weapons and then take some archers/spearmen as core (someone has to carry those repeater bolt throwers).
I thought that a 2k list would look something like this:
Prince in chariot with seafarers bow
Commander in chariot with reaverbow
Mage lvl 2, RoC
Mage lvl 2, RoF
2 Chariots (to the characters)
2 Great Eagles
Now - wouldn't that look great on the tabletop?
o certainly it would look great on the table, no question about it.
but would it work?
characters on chariots are VP's waiting to be plucked. One good cannon/stonethrower shot and it is bye bye.
a lot of chariots (say 6) would be great for the enemy can't destroy thema ll before they make contact.
i would though advise against characters on chariots, it is really riskey. but if you take them: a chariot should be in CC, not shooting so give the prince the sword of leaping seagold, a shield and the armour of protection. he has good defence in teh chariot, can survive it's destructiona and wuill cause havoc with it's 7 attacks suplementing the impact hits
play with characters mounted and not mounted and try to see what works best for you. it there is a lot of terain you chariots can cme close and do there thing.
hope it helps
"Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and terrifying to know"
Try taking it to a tourney and see how it comps out. I run 4 chariots in my list and that is already pushing it. It will work great but it will get cheese calls. Also it will work until you run into a army with stubborn/unbreakable troop. It will suck against them.
