best equipment for mages in a 2000pts heavy mage army?
well it depends on you're style of play
do you want offensive or defensive?
anullian crystal, 3x dispell scroll
this one is very very defensive
ring of corin/fury, jewel of dusk, DS
a bit of a allround mage
DS and seer
common set up, nice defense and you get the spells you want
ring of corin/fury, jelwel of dusk
my personel set ups (the ones i use):
lv2 with jewel of dusk and DS
lv2 with silver wand and DS
hope it helps
"Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and terrifying to know"
Archmage, lvl 4, book of Hoeth.
Mage lvl 2, 2* dispel scroll.
8 PD, 5 DD, 2 scrolls, lots irresistable force!
Gives you a reasonably effective and powerful magic phase without using a ton of points. Watch out in 7th ed, though, as the new miscast table may make this too risky!
If you want really heavy magic though don't bother with the book, just go 4 mages and watch your opponents cry cheese.
im going for an offencive magic heavy army.
Oh i love the book of Hoeth, it's so much fun to play!
Especially if you get flames of the phoenix, roll five dice for it, sit back and watch the fun start
If you are going for offensive then you should use an arch mage with
-seer,jewel of the dusk, ring of fury
Lvl 2 mage with
-silver wand, dispel scroll
lvl 2 mage with
-ring of corin
-Radient gem of hoeth, pick walk between worlds and a great weapon and watch enemy heroes/monsters fall
Then you should take the banner of sorcery for extra power dice. This will give you 12-14 power dice.try and get flames of the phoenix and watch the fire works
