the gamers around here play 2250pt games in WHFB.
Here is my strategy for about a 2000pt game
1xcommander, 2x lvl2 mages, 18x Swordmasters
20x Spears,5x SH, Chariot, RBT,Great Eagles x2 units each
Eagles block and then hit the warmachines (if they survive that, they hit the opposing mages from the rear)
Arm the Commander (a bit cheaper) with Reaver bow to snipe. Everyone marches fast or slow up the middle til contact, then the charge with spears and flank/rear with SH and chariots. Swordmaster side goes a little bit faster/further up the line and that side swings the "gate" closed. Having your mages/commander in the middle the move up in the protection of the spears until they hit their range and unleash Flame of the Phoenix and the Reaver bow on the opposing magicians and leaders or what's left of the warmachines.
What else should I add to make 2250? DP or just a bigger SH unit or upgrade to Archmage? If I upgrade, is there any reason not to do level 4 (only a few pts more)
Should I add a 3rd mage? I could add some archers but what would they do? (Unless Im up against goblins or something)

you only have 2 MBU's and that is a litlle low, another unit wth which you can head to head is always nice. so maybe a 20 men spearblock with full command would fit in just nicely?
or maybe a 2nd RBT?
