Most other armies have a really tough unit (giant, chaos knights, brettonians, ?Steam Tank?)
What's the toughest unit you've faced and how did you smash him?
I have faced and successfully destroyed a unit of 12 Grail Knights. The way I did it was to draw them into just normal movement using a great eagle, then positioning my fast cavalry and silver helms into position. I then charged his flank with the eagle, the other flank with the fast cavalry and his front with the silver helms.
Unit destroyed!!! :ninja:

toughest unit faced:
chosen khorne knights + lord of chaos
The unit they made contact made (20 spearmen) was decimated with 14 kills:w00t: so i lost the combat.
why did i lose?
i had positioned the eagle such that i could lure them away but he chared, i fled, rolled really crap, he cought up and was behind my lines...
i could not reach him since his pursuit had carried him out of range.
situation was such that i could only turn my spearmen around and face them head on and hope the some luck (that did not came )
so that was my toughest unit faced
"Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers; all of which are true and terrifying to know"
Blooddragon on a Zombie Dragon... God... took me months to find out how to kill him... In one battle I killed his dragon with a bolt thrower and then my lord Killing Blowed the Blood Dragon... it was awesome.
choosen chaos knight of khorne. Tough as nails but very vunerable if you can get their flank. Don't go for their rear since they will still kill you. Only on their flank.
15 large unit of grail knights with a lvl 2 damsel. I got the first turn and cast eagles cry. He fails his rerollable ld 10 (on a 11 and a 12) check and rolls only 3". So he has to move 3" towards his own table edge. Normally not a problem but since the unit was 10" deep he was only 2" from the table edge after deployment. Bye bye grail knights.
Ogre kingdom, bruiser, happy didn't faced those really though chief of them.
I didn't actually killed him yet. Any hints are welcome
Hmm possibly an upgraded dwarf unit with 2 combat characters and that stone that makes the unit have no flanks.
I was planning to suicide charge a small unit of fast cavalry in to make him drop the stone then just leave him there, unfortunately though I realised that dropping the stone was optional and he probably wouldn't. Eventually, I just completely ignored the unit. Whenever they got within range of my units, I just walked right past and out of their charge arc and continued messing up the rest of his army. Then, when they were pretty much the only unit left I surrounded them with everything then charged from all sides at once to make sure I could kill most of them.
my friend is the king of putting all of his eggs in one basket...
i watched a game he played the other day (and im sorry to say it was against a dark elf player).
ok well the unit was 7 strong maneater unit, wait for it heres the best bit... wth a tyrant bruiser and a butcher inside... they end up with a rank!
and each side has a nice big hero or lord on it. the guy charged the flank with the bruiser, with his executioners, took out the bruiser... but the units stubborn.
so this combat lasts for 5 combat phases with other units/chariots joining the fray and finally the maneaters went down, so the tyrant and butcher (on 2 and 1 wounds respectively) had to test on a modified leadership. The look on the ogre players face when they went tho... priceless.
on a side note they died again in another game... pit of shades, got the lord on definate and then bruiser butcher and 3 maneaters on a 4+ (he had the tyrant in the centre) it caught everyone, and killed all of them...
lets agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours are
A unit of 5 Choosen Chaos Knights of Khorne. Killed 3 with a flank shot from a Bolt Thrower and finish the last two off with a unit of Dragon Princes from the rear. It took two rounds of combat at a cost of two of my knights.
I faced an O&G army with 8 stone trolls. (ranked trolls. gah.) I successfully cast flames of the pheonix even through the MR, and had too much magic for him to try and dispel in later rounds. So they all eventually died, without making it into CC.
His look of dismay was priceless.
