Does anyone have some good ideas on what to do against a whole line of Dwarf Artillery and Thunderers in a pitched battle?

I'm kind of new to High Elves, but I think that Eagles and shadow warriors are your best bet.
Tyranids 1850 - 10/0/0 Models sold off, but I still sometimes play with proxies.
High Elves 2000 - 0/1/1 Starting, don't have any models.
all i can relly say is that to beat a dwarf gunline get loads of silver helm with 2+save and charge because you cant out shoot them and you may not be able to out magic them sure you will lose some in the turns before combat but thats why you get loads
Not something I advocate but the best tactic against major dwarven gunlines is to go magic heavy with the lore of heavens. Dwarven shooting is powerfull but most is limited to 24". So just throw comets at it. Eventually a few will get through and take out enough points to get the victory.
yeah, with the exception of the cannon and bolt thrower you should outrange him and you can use that to your advantage...but really you have to find a way to make him move because once he does hes playing to your strengths and his weaknesses... either try to outshoot him (magic, bolthrowers, dragons? and a few eagles to take out artillery) or you gotta rush his line....
Shadow warriors to annoy him because they are scouts.
White lions to sace against that shooting.
Lots of silver helms and dragon princes (maybe some reavers) to clsoe in on his army quick.
Sorry, but storming the line won't work. The problem is that you need to live through at least 2 rounds of shooting (one round of shooting and stand and shoot at best). A dwarven gun line will take you apart in 2 turns. Nothing in the high elf list is great against dwarven shooting. Sure we have fast heavy cav but most of the dwarven shooting is armor piercing and you only have to do very few wounds to kill enough of a heavy cav unit. You can do it outrange and shoot/magic away. Then when you have some done enough damage with comets and stuff you can attempt to rush in.
Another option is howler wind but since the magic phase is after movement it's a big gamble. And on top of that the dwarven player can dispel it in his magic phase before he starts shooting.
just to let you know sylvester he wont be able to dispell it in his magic phase as dwarfs generate no powerdice
i remember reeding it some where before that they dont generate power dice and thats they generate extra dispel dice insted i also remmber that in the mighty empiers team battles section it also says that dwarfs will generate only 2 disple dice and the other army generates 2 as well but only in a dwarf alliance and that dwarf generate no powerdice
