hey, i was planning on giving a vampire "showcase" model i want him to be wielding the Frostblade sword. any ideas on how to paint it? its supposed to be pale-blueish.
I can't remember any strict descriptions of the frostblade. I think the book says it is beefed up with spells of freezing people to the bone, or words to that effect. This means it only really need look like a potent magical blade.
Runes and a good looking sword to represent it will be a good idea. I think it is one of the nastiest or most points costly magical weapons in WH so it stands to reason it should look good.
I think that you could have it pale blue if you like. Silver blends into light blue such as ice blue very easily. You could try to highlight the edges with a ice blue to make it look like a frost blade. On the other hand you could do it really fancy. Make it look like a shard of permanently frozen ice made into a sword. You could even have some unfortunate guy at the vampire's feet, frozen solid!
