Games Workshop: Games Day
Some fancy work, and an awful lot of primarches in there!
Im willing to bet that it has something to do with whitedwarf or the new apocalypse (its a stretch, i know) or something...they are all on the same kind of display stands, with the same size symbols burned in...coincidence, i think not...i always wondered if the eavy metal guys could enter these competitions...does this mean that they can, or has keith robertson changed his role?
"This sure ain't no pansy Eldar Armor, Son"
185th Cadian Armored Div.
"One Shot, One Kill"
Western Border Patrol of Athel Loren
After reading a few posts they were done a a group who were effectively "Team US". There were others that were suppose to be entered, but failed to be finished.
And I don't think even GW would sink as low as supplant minis in an award winning contest to promote a new release. At least, not yet.
I believe Eavy Metal painters would go under the "Staff" section, but I'm not sure.
I think they are generally good. I liked the Rogal dorn model in the honourable mentions section. I thought he was very well done, also his face looks like Spike from buffy the vampire slayer.
The big Imperial guard tank made from the Landraider was good too. There did seem to alot of Primarchs and preheresy this and that. I think preheresy is in-vogue at the moment. The slayer sword winner was good.
It seems it won as all the other Primarchs seemed to have the odd mistake here and there. I think that several of the others could of easily won if it weren't for dodgy shading here or odd proportions there.
I also see Keith Robertson, won a bronze demon with a Squat! What the hell is that about? Please don't mention them but if you want to paint them up and enter them in the Golden Demon please don't let us stop you. Good to see though.
Also liked the work that kid did, in winning four or five statues. One for the future methinks.

I would have liked to have seen the Tau and Space Marine Diorama win something, that looks pretty cool.

I particularly enjoyed the Scaven Giant.
The Open Brain Surgery/Control is so cool and gross and funny.
I don't know whether to be awed or appalled or amused.
I'll settle with very impressed.
