I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed/mentioned this, or if I am completely wrong, but, how come this:
Got beaten by this: ?????
I am very confused. Was it an inside job? Did someone get paid? I mean, the gobbo looks quite well painted. But c'mon! This is just stupid! And why was the goblin in the open category anyway, surely it fits the whole Warhammer Single miniature category quite well? Although I see that the same guy won in that category as well. I smell something cheesy.
"Pickles, the drummer, doodily doo. (Ding-dong, doodily, doodily, doo.)"
Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
And I quote from InventGeek.com "Put the square peg in the round hole." The square fantasy base doesn't complement the round pedestal. Granted the gobo looks funny and is well painted, it does not show as much skill as the falcon.
Good but bad find.

It seems even more amazing when you consider that the entry was I diorama I believe that included this:http://gamesday.us.games-workshop.co...r_altansar.jpg
I don't know. Is there something in the rules that would make this illegal or anything? I'm not too familiar with the GD rules, but that seems like the only way that wouldn't even get an award, just honorable mention.

WTF? ok now I know that the judges are on drugs, explains why I never win any painting contest with my pink crons....
Create flames for a galaxy and it will be warm. Put a galaxy in flames and it will be warm for the rest of it's existence.
Only you would know, Toast, only you...
I think maybe they found people at the funny farm to be the judges... (no offense to anyone, so don't take any..)
Its funny seeing you post this stuff because my buddy Rick is the one who painted all that for my other friend rob. The falcon, diorama, and an entire eldar army painted to that standard is sitting in a display case at our store...and yes no one knows why it lost, and it all looks even more insane in real life.
Joe Peshi (lone wolf) kill tally:Lash Sorcerer, Ghazkull, Yriel, Termi Libby, Vulkan.
That gobbo isn't scratch built by any chance. If it was then perhaps a scratchbuilt model won, whereas standard ("from the packet/blister") models did not.
Though it does seem a tad bit over done for the Open Category, as its more for the regiment category due to their being multiple models (I know how the Daemons and what can and can't go into categories, I'm saying that Open is more for scratch build models, or those that are not from the packet/blister).
the gobbo models is straight from the squig herd blister with zero conversion work on it.
