Just finished my converted necron lord, and thought I'd show it off. comments and criticism would be great, though I am not painting very many more necrons, just a 10 man immortal squad and a destroyer lord/heavy destroyer. Enjoy.
(And yes I know the amount of angles of the small shots is excessive, but the image was resized and the more the better right?)
Nicely painted, I like the bit of shrub on the base. I wish I'd painted my necrons that well (5 years ago :rofl

Dear All Concerned,
This looks really good ShadowZora13! Although the pictures are a bit small and hard to make out!

That is pretty nice Shadow, but I have a few suggestions for improvements, if you don't mind?
I think something that would really help this scheme out is some blacklining, by which I mean running a thin line of black (or a very dark version of the base colour) around the areas where different colours meet. ie: On the Res Orb arm, you would carefully paint watered down black along the top edge of the 'palm' (below his fingers), the top and bottom edges of his lower arm, and on each end of his elbow.
This would really make the different colours stand out, making the whole figure have impact.
The highlights on his cloak look very harsh in my opinion, they could be slightly more subtle and still have impact. As the necron looks fairly worn overall, maybe drybrushing could help here (especially as the robes look fairly mouldering and tattered). Paint the whole lot black and carefully drybrush the entire thing with a 50/50 mix of codex grey and black, then pure codex grey, then finally 50/50 codex grey/fortress grey. This will really make it look much more considered and finished, IMO.
As it is, it stands out from the rest of the model a little too much for me.
Another thing you might like to consider is carefully blacking out the lines between his ribs, which look a tad messy as they are.
Overall though, a nice figure, neatly painted and with a nice colour scheme. Hopefully the rest of your 'crons are that nice, and you have that rarest of things, a Necron army someone cares about...

Thanks for the feed back. I fixed those ribs like you said minus_t, they did look bad, although the cape highlights look better in person IMO, its just the picture, and maybe the lighting. I just stuck it under my painting lamp and stuck a piece of paper behind it, and it turned out pretty good.
Yes - the robes need to lose those fine green lines, the rib cage needs black/chestnut ink wash, but I like the hands from Destroyer Lord box - it gives the on-foot Lord a nice pose IMHO!
I like it! The colours have turned out well and the contrasting colours on the "skeleton" itself. And the cloak is a nice contrast to the shiny metals. Very good job, mate
I don't like how they didn't resculpt the legs or position them differently. Same goes with the overall body and cape...
However I do like the arms, they're pleasantly different. Especially the staff.
