I'm tyring to devise a way to add a Twin-Linked Devourer to a few Tyranid Warriors. I'm trying to find a unique way to do this, rather than have a Devourer on each side with the warrior standing upright. Does anyone have any suggestions or links on how to do this?
I was thinking of having the Warrior lean forwards with arms on the ground and w/ the Devourers on it's back or side.
Thanks for the help!
I had an idea of using the Tyrant Guard models, and have the weapon mounted onto the back, using the upper/fowards set of arms. It would probably fit quite well, and look delightfully dangerous, with the low, solid appearance.
Probably better for a Carnifex though.
How about taking 2 devourers, cutting the end off one and mounting the barrel/nosecone/business end thing under the other, to make one very large devourer? You could also add some sort of sighting apparatus to the warrior's head, to reflect the idea that better vision gives the warrior the chance to re-roll.
Otherwise, a 4-legged creature could work well as a kind of walking gun emplacement. It could end up looking slightly like a Krootox with a gunner on top.
You could try to give the Warriors scorpion tails which are devourers. I have done this with deathspitters, but I don't have pics so I will try to describe it. Basically my Warriors are lying on the ground and I have positioned the heads so that they are sticking out from the body horizontally. I had to cut away the horns/spikes at the backs of the heads so they would fit. They also needed some green stuff to fill in the gaps.
Make sure you have all the spare parts you need before this. Cut off the ends of the tails and stich the devourers on. You could try to have two devourer gun barrels ( the cone bit ) merged together to show it is twinlinked. You could also have a devourer on the tail and another pair in the front arm sockets. You will need to have the legs in a position so that the thing looks as though it is crawling on the ground, it isn't hard, just stick them in with glue and let them dry.
You could try another approach and just have the Warriors standing as normal and use spare barbed stranglers and venom cannons. Cut the gun barrels off the weapons and get two of those cone bits from the devourers. Stick them together and then stick them where the gun barrels of the larger weapons used to be. The result is extra large devourers with two barrels.
